Topic: Net-worth

What is the best way to increase your net-worth exponentially.

Re: Net-worth

Vague question..
Simply put: Income+planets - From cash/rez....

- HUMI FOR MOD!!!

Re: Net-worth

lots and lots of transports

Re: Net-worth

Go to college.  Obtain a degree in a high-demand field, such as a science field.  Obtain employment within said field and place a significant amount of money earned in interest-bearing investment.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Net-worth

Question:    Networth formula
Answer:     This formula shows you how your networth is made up:
1100 + (3*Fighters) + (5*Bombers) + Soldiers + (6*Transports) + Droids + Wizards + Agents + (pop/40) + (Buildings*4) + (Planets*800) + (RP/1000)
List of Networths
Fighters = 3 nw    Bombers = 5 nw
Soldiers = 1 nw    Droids = 1 nw
Wizards = 1 nw    Agents = 1 nw
Transports = 6 nw    Buildings = 4 nw
Population = 0.025 nw    RP = 0.001 nw
Planets = 800 nw

[13:43] <@RisingDown> never thought i'd say it, but TBO actually did something useful.
[13:43] <@arsy> dont let him see you say that

Re: Net-worth

question is
what do you want?

do you just want a high nw?
if so, build fleet, but know that building fleet will mean you won't have (much) income, and won't be able to continue growing
or do you actually want a working economy, work together with your family, that is the best way to go

Re: Net-worth

right
with all the respect, this is the questions forum
someone is trying to get answers to his questions.

so far in this thread there are 7 absolute bullshit answers and 4 somewhat useful ones.
if you want to joke about and think you're funny, go to the general forum, if you want to help people, stay here.
it is no wonder people don't continue playing if they have to sit through so much bullshit when trying to get some help playing the game.

Re: Net-worth

lol Primo take it easy

this is my serious answer to his question:  there is no way to grow your NW exponentially, nothing goes exponentially in this game

Re: Net-worth

Serious answer:

Work with your family. Building more infrastructure means you have more income/resources to keep building more. But the best way to build more is to get more planets, which is where an attacker comes in (as well as working with the family)...sometimes it is not great to boost your NW exponentially (if you are attacking for example).

But to be more specific, we need to know more information:

What race, or role are you playing? What period of the round is it? Is it a normal gal or HC? What sort of position are you in (ie. how many planets, what % OB, what is the available resources, what is the market like)? There is no real answer to this question, because each situation will be different...if you are after something more specific (ie. what to build at the start of the Round) then I would suggest reading through some of the threads in Stratergy...

I give your invention the worst score imaginable. An A minus MINUS!

My answer was helpful, depending on your definition of "net worth."  smile

Re: Net-worth

Actually, there is only 1 thing that can cause your networth to grow exponentially. That's Research Centers. Gaining more points every tick affects your networth. Infra, or fleet, have to be continuously built to keep growing.

Modestus Experitus

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

A little misleading. Research Centres add NW to your empire every tick, but not exponentially. They do not require any maintenance or upkeep for them to continue adding that NW though.

Like Render mentioned, nothing in this game is able to reach exponential growth (exception could be using extreme market play in special galaxies). TBO's post from the guide on the NW formula is the easiest way to work out how to grow the quickest, but that would be hard to sustain without some sort of infra/economy/family behind you supporting it.

Like others mention, it would be handy to have some extra information so we all can grasp what exactly you are trying to achieve smile

I once prayed to god for some planets, but quickly found out he didnt work that way
