There should be an understanding for people trying to use a foreign language, in fact, learning a foreign language should be encouraged in my opinion.

However, there are some exceptions.
The primary exception is when someone attempts to appear smarter than he/she really is by using a language that has a "smart" connotation to it, such as Latin, or is otherwise trying to impress another person (for instance attempting to impress someone by using French), while not completely having mastered (quite the opposite) the language.
In these cases, the use of said foreign language only has an adverse effect.

However, I do want to point out that I merely pointed out your mistake because you included the absurd notion "If you fail to post a reply then you are a facist racist xenophobe!" in your post, which made me want to make fun of you .

Yup, and they normally understand that the consequences were brought about by their mistakes...I have made a few doozies, and I accept the harsh return of words because I made the mistake. Getting into trouble over phrases whilst learning is a steep learning curve, but one that often is beneficial...
