hehe.. dont tempt me.  I did join a fam 2 weeks ago. Got alot of buildings on the go when I came back a couple of days later they had booted me out   A message from the Gods I think.

Genesis you can't blame me for cores old man, I asked for 13 system core and you said u never heard of such a thing and u would not agree to it, well u did cause I would not nap u till u did and the very next round u and tnt are asking for 30 core system lol. I think the penguin fam a few rounds later( nothing to do with me) was the 1st to ask for a whole sector for its core lol and then it got out of hand when everyone was asking for big cores( also partially to blame was the outragous sizes of the gals all of the sudden) and another thing to blame was the nap breaks and the rapes after a big war when fams would not stop till they got a certain amount of planets to attempt to win in size. How many rounds did the Munchers do this after being ranked around 7th all round to save for 3 weeks and do 1 eor war and refuse to nap till they got enough planets to have a chance to win in size?. I remember people coming to us requesting 100 system core when they were 14th in rank lol.
Greatest was a solid player, he was with us in tri for 3 of the 4 wins we had in tri. After that he retired.

Cores are a variant of an old theme. In beta 3 for the first time the galaxy map was too big to render, so it was divided into 9 sectors. The Confederation Alliance demanded that the family of Starstrike was not allowed to explore or enter their sector. A separate alliance called the Sector 2 alliance - which consisted of 8 families iirc (led largely by Carpathian perhaps) - formed and demanded that no family not based in Sector 2 could form a presence there. This led to a lot of conflict. Later in the round a Sector 8 alliance also formed.

Ive been playing off and on for about 19-20 yrs and cant remember half the names till they are mentioned here! I would love to here more about how people looked at the years gone by!

(There in B2 and B4). In this time it was not uncommon for a big family to ally a smaller family as they could not determine the skills of players before round start.

Early rounds (1-5)
This is where my family behaved as wild cards upsetting traditional thought. We were the first to op Evaels population, we would interfere with major wars, and we tried new strategies which paid off. It was in this time the Flint Jump was first created

Early-mid rounds (6-15)
This saw the culmination of strategic thought including Flnt Jumps, market aiding allies, cores (I made custom maps until ICMapGen came out. I participated in it's creative design and the creative design of Yama.). This was the era of big alliances as there were usally 4 contending alliances and 2-3 up and comers

Each Alliance had well defined leadership with myself (And Malorean and another) leading one, Spam and his crew another, PP leading the Penguins (my favorite farm during this era), and one lead by Kwi's and Aussies like Warsong and Opti.

Wars were either farming by surprise or long drawn out Vendetta's.

Mid rounds
This era had me either inactive or playing with my usual crowd in other galaxies (we owned all of them in turn)

It was marked by the rise of true randoming as old friends started playing with others and as the old alliances started falling apart.

Mid to late rounds
This era saw a dramatic increase in game exploits, bots, hacks, illegal alliances, nap breaks, bugs, and other issues.

VIP map era
In one fell swoop Stefan ended map bots. However this also became an era of mod cheating with many mods getting caught (Nai, Opti, and more)

Cant believe IC started like 13 years ago.....
