Topic: Removal of delete button

Why is there need of an delete button?

so you can try to get into a better family?

This button has become one of the most used buttons for some players. Thats quite sad.
If there was no delete button then players would be forced to play there best in the fam they landed in... and not just wait to delete again.

this would also stop the deletes from players with alot of planets... with a delete they really hurt their fam... now the fam can easily take over his planets before killing him off. (that would be the only way to getting out of a fam)

any ideas?

Re: Removal of delete button

some ppl wanna play with friends, in PW aswell, so deleting 1-2 times to try aint a bad thing.

Re: Removal of delete button

precisely PW is not a gal to play with 'friends', it has been always a random gal

I agree on disable the surrender button, yeah, but first of all we'll have to find a way to detect and remove multis because this decision will increase the multis trying to random into the strong fam, even more than they try now.

me, personally, I never NEVER ever used the surrender button, well, actually only once, but it was becasue I randomed in a fam with some players I had in my blacklist

Re: Removal of delete button

Am I on your blacklist???

dont worry, you are in my pinklist big_smile

Re: Removal of delete button

How about if a player decided to delete. Make their account idle (72hrs) so the family has time to take their planets.

Re: Removal of delete button

1-2) if they wanna play with friends they can get themselves a vip and draft a fam together. or make new friends!
3) if a fam is garbage from a start, he could step up and take charge since that person clearly knows how it should be done, so in the end the noobs only wil learn from your skills and our overal gameplay wil improve.
4) people dont leave unless all planets r given to the fam, if they manage to take all his p's im sure they can kill his home aswell, and if u know u will be going on a holliday either dont join the round yet, or when you do dont complain about the consequences.
5) if the fam dislikes you im sure they wont say no to a fwew free planets and then to kill you off, and if your still left with one planet and the fam refuses to kill you off just to annoy you. im sure mods can help out with either removing you from the fam or handing out some blocks wink
6) not even a top fam can use quiters...

anny more arguments?

Re: Removal of delete button

fully agree with Paininside

I think this idea should be taken serious.

People will actually put some effort in making a fam work (as it will be there only possible fam for that round) instead of just giving up directly and hitting the delete button.

What determines who the mods should and shouldn't delete, though?  Unless you have a clear line established, this becomes another "open to calls of mod abuse," "utterly subjective modding," etc.

You dont need the mods at all, there's an auto-deletion script coded in the game when an empire hasnt logged in for 72h I think, so problem solved.  Also, there's always the chance you "still" play that round in the way, if they dont kill you now they arent allowed to kill you later, and yeah that should be a mod job, or just put you in p-mode until you do some attacks (SS infrawhore ftw?)

Removing the delete button is proven to have more advantages than issues at this point.

Re: Removal of delete button

people deleting cripples a fam even more wink
