Topic: Sopa

If you have not heard of this you need to find out.

The Pendulum swings... and this time is swung way hard for the Music/Film/Software industry.

We can only hope common sense dictates.

Essentially anyone can shut down any website that was a way for people to post to it, contribute content to, or such.

I could shut down Whitehouse.gov with this law (though I bet they remove outside content allowances if it passes... darn)

This far over-reaching law has been delayed, but far from killed.

Google, Youtube, IC, Irc servers, and more in legit businesses could have their websites shut down from trolls... and con artists who wish to blackmail companies.

Instead of punishing the person doing the crime it is punishing the route the person took to facilitate their crime.

I suggest calling your Senators and Representative and voicing loud opposition to this.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

Re: Sopa

of course just ask our govt

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Sopa

Yes the United States can since it has the 'post office box' of the internet. Yeah a series of workarounds would happen...

"Turn right at Macys, drive 1.2 miles til you see a blue house, turn left, and then it is the 6th house on the right" is much more annoying than 1000 maple street, Convoluted, Massachusetts

But again workarounds would be effected asap.

The law is so wrong however I could shut anything down... I would see if I could get www.Whitehouse.gov , Senate.gov , House.gov , most lawyer web sites, most State Websites, and more shut down personally as an activist to show the stupidity of the law. By the time I finished they would run away from their votes on that law like no tomorrow.

And I would use my own copyrighted words to get it done! That is how moronic and stupid this law is!

The only way that it would stop it, is by internet censorship within its own borders.

Re: Sopa

I hear PirateBay is still doing very fine, regardless of american lobbyists and lawyers crying like little girls. Just a thought.

Re: Sopa

Who let Deci out?

Re: Sopa

isn`t this unconstitutional?

The inmates are running the asylum

Re: Sopa

yeah but I also hear Piratebay cleaned itself up because American assholes can recruit lawyers to work all 3 shifts

Re: Sopa

I do too, amazingly.  My first thought was that maybe his account got hacked or something and someone else was posting.  Einstein, is it really you?  Are you truly opposed to SOPA?

Re: Sopa

Same goes for me. I don't want this kind of gov interference on the internet.

It reminds me of the Arab spring and the Chinese great firewall.
