Topic: Dictatorship in the United States?

I heard about this a few weeks ago and was shocked beyond belief.  Now I hear Obama has signed the NDAA into law while everyone was out ringing in the New Year.

What's this world coming to?  Is a great nation circling the drain??

Are you really surprised?  He can do almost anything and get away with it. If he gets another 4 years, and I'm a afraid he will, I'm honestly scared about democracy in the US.

What surprises me is no republican candidate has made it a real issue. It looks so easy to show Obama's mistakes. Far easier as any president in the history of the US.

The GOP has lost faith in its own ability to explain anything.  They will not attack Obama as dangerous, that makes Obama supporters dig in their heels and makes htem look "mean".  They will pretend his antics are a valid political option that reasonable people could choose, only, there's a better reasonable option.

By doing that they legitimize it.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.
