Topic: Serious discussion about Obama 2012 election

2008 when Obama was elected the country was so anti Rep. Anyone could have won on the democractic side.
2004 Dem. Party had a real good chance ,but couldnt offer someone quite good enough. after 4 more yrs it didnt matter who was running against the rep. A democrat was winning.

This election i see like 2004 as i do not think Obama has done a great job I feel like the Rep. Party just isnt gonna offer someone that is quite good enough. In 4 more years 2016 election the country once again will be done with the democrats party and it will not matter who the rep. party put out there they will win.

In my Opinion the republicans will have a chance is they run with someone fairly moderate and intelligent, such at Romney or Huntsman. The more rightwing extremists such as Perry or Santorum i really doubt stand any chance. Ron Paul is interesting but will never go over 25% nationally tongue.

Obama has taken a big blow in popularity id say, but on the other hand he has also shown that he can infact lead, and that might be more important than ever.

Re: Serious discussion about Obama 2012 election

I'm with Noir on this.  A moderate candidate is a safe bet in this election... moderates do well when the voting population is generally discontent with the status quo (2004 was an exception, I'd argue mainly because the #1 issue the Democrats had going for them, the Iraq War, was actually supported by both Kerry and Bush, so real anti-war candidates didn't actually have anyone for which to vote... terrible planning, in retrospect).  However, even with discontent at the status quo candidate in place, someone who is too far to the other side can scare off moderates just as much.  There are a couple good examples of this, particularly in the last midterm election.

Obama

and revolt.

Yeah I am serious.  There's no point obeying tyrants who think the Bill of Rights is toilet paper, that I'll work for 25 years and pay all the taxes they order AND buy where they tell me to buy.  To hell with them, I'll take federal prison first.

Sadly I knew when Yell would not change from within this was his thoughts

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

What's sad about it?  Sad is trying to raise kids as America enters dictatorship.

Re: Serious discussion about Obama 2012 election

There is other ways yet.

Yes Boehner, Bachmann, et al suck.

The group I am with made real changes and got good people elected at local levels.

I won't give a red penny to any of the current candidates for President, nor volunteer time for them. Nor would I ever ask you to do so.

In fact if Romney wins the election I plan to leave the box for presidential choice empty in the general election (or vote Obama if Ron Paul somehow won).

No good choices is no good choices.

However what you can do is support primarying the 10%, the 20%, or w/e worst of our party

What you can do is run for office yourself, choose a district you can win, move there, and run.

What you can do is spend money blasting the policies and politics you hate yourself.

What you can do is get a like minded group to form a PAC and get so much money in it your impossible to ignore, and so you can set the agenda.

You can fight this way... or....

@relish & Jets:
because...?

Re: Serious discussion about Obama 2012 election

Because I like what he's attempted to do.  He's tried to get a lot more going than most presidents i've seen in my lifetime at the age of 27 and I think he got the shaft when it came to congress/house with some of the democrats having trouble accepting a black president at first then republicans took over and decided they wanted to ruin just about everything that went to the house or senate.

As much as people want to bash him, I guarantee you none of the other politicians that were trying to win that election would have done any better.
