Topic: Discourage farming smaller familys. Encourage fighting own size

Ideas- Several changes that would decrease farming and increase fighting fams your own size or bigger.

1.Attacking a family 50% less then your nw will increase morale loss
2.Attacking a family 50% less then your nw will caiuse you to lose 1% of fleet used in that attack
3.Attacking a family 50% less then yours this ic year will cause an extra tax on gold and resources at the end of the year.
4.Attacking a family 50% less then yours will give your family evil points ( a new feature that tracks how a fam was good or evil)

Now to attacking a fam same size or bigger. 25% of your nw for example 100k nw fam 75k or larger fam.

1.Attacking a fam 25% under your nw or bigger grants you a decrease in morale loss
2.No extra loss in fleet
3.A bonus in gold and resources if you havent farmed a farm at the the end of the ic year
4.You recieve good points or honor points

Pros for this idea
1. More fighting among the top fams all round long less farming
2. Smaller fams have a chance to catch up because they are not getting farmed by every fam all round long.
3. More noob friendly
4. Little more strat fam may want the resource gold boost so dedicate not to hit small fam

Cons.
1. has to change things not easily done.
2. little more complicated
3. small fam attack big fam gets them to waste morale. small fam will still lose just a little slower.
4. big fam that is honorble can grow quicker with the added bonus in resources and gold.

I remember when i played bushtarion, if you attacked someone too small the government would come and kick your units to shit.  maybe something similar would stop it in IC

yeh i played ,but just because an idea is similar doesnt mean it wouldnt work

seems to be a good idea. however you might want to make it fam's total nw only. else you will be "farming" when clearing a tiny infiltrator from a big fam.

There could be a message when a big fam attacks 50% smaller fam, something like
"Sir, the people are protesting against our war with xxx, . We cannot attack them until the crowd has calmed down. This may take several weeks."

during that time the bigger fam cannot attack that specific smaller fam, even if they have moral, but they can attack other fams.

I like this idea a lot.  I also think your cons aren't entirely cons:

If implemented well, this could be a very good thing.  It would require serious players to strategize more if they care about efficiency, while casual players wouldn't notice a huge difference other than knowing that "farming is bad".  Complicated doesn't necessarily hard to understand, or even necessary to understand.

This seems right to me.  Small fams attack large fams at their own risk, knowing that while the large fam may be penalized, it doesn't mean they will just take it either.  And the large fam is still being penalized, which is better than not being penalized at all.

This seems like an earned benefit, and motivation to plan wars around avoiding farming to earn optimal resource returns.


I really can't see many cons to this idea at all.
