you need War Decs off both fams involved before the rule drops from 35% to the 25% rule, you have declared on them they need to declare on you.

I'm at work, so no IRC atm.  Maybe Lee is right - we have declared but they have not.  That seems like a silly loophole, though.  The wording of the war declaration needs to be changed or something. 


Also, this is an empire that has not really engaged in the war, but is still in the warring family nonetheless.  He hasn't attacked me, so obv the 72hr hostile actions part has not occurred.

it actually states that for war bonuses etc to go  into effect only one side needs declare?  Am having the same problem......was working when both of us had the declaration up.....they've removed their war declaration and now it's costing us the opportunity to clear systems they've entered into with their small guys who took planets?  This does not seem right......should be able to raze the planets between 25-35.....:(

It's always been like that.  I view it as the text being wrong, rather than what it allows.  Elro should just change the text.

and waht about morale?? is it applied when only 1 side declares??
and waht about war bonus??

I think both of them apply with only 1 side declaration (after 2 tics)
So this is absurd, that some bonus are applied with only 1 side and others need both sides declaration

Make it all or nothing, I supose if you declare on a small fam and they dont want to get in range they just dont declare back, but then all the other bonus are useless. Also, text should be changed, and explained so leaders in small fams know they have a fair advantage by not declaring back.

It's true that both sides have to declare. I went through this with Ps one time and he searched through the script and found that both sides have to declare.  It is that way because it  helps protect bigger families farming smaller families. The war declaration is for 2 families who want to war each other not a way to being able to farm a smaller family.
