Topic: Veddek Galaxy

Allow the families which finish first and second each round, despite if allied or not, to fight in an 8 week long round against the powerful Tokaasi Empire of the Veddek Galaxy.  The Tokaasi Empire is played by AI.  Hardcore rules.  One giant sector.  Everyone who didn't place first or second is on hold for 8 real life weeks until the Veddek Galaxy round is over.

It's simple.  Set them all to 1b NW, no infra in that.  Give them a good mix of figs/bombs/soldiers/whatever.  Give them free portals and lasers.  Have them build 5 lasers and port on any planet they capture.  Have them send large amount of fleet to nearest enemy planet at any and all times.  Set them all to sentinel so they can kill all the noobs in the top family.  And watch the mayhem.

ps has agreed to code it so hopefully this will get done soon.  the people who don't place first and second can just wait like professional athletes in many sports do who dont make the playoffs.

Programming a decent API would take more time than rewriting the whole of IC.
I do like this idea so I have started on this project myself as well =]

By the way... if this galaxy is somehow created... I propose we also have a galaxy with no players, just two AI-controlled empires... pit robots against robots!

That's why mods have the capability to reset the galaxy.  We would just have to make sure the AIs don't have the capability to learn how to deactivate the mod's ability to end a galaxy... THAT'S when I'd worry!
