Topic: Campaign Issue: Crony Capitalism

My State, under Democrats, has a history of corruption, yes I call it corruption, in regards to picking winners and losers in our businesses.

The best example is Intel. When they were hiring employees they got a tax discount for the activity. When they were laying people off... you guessed it... they got a tax break for slimming down.

By maintaining one of the highest corporate tax rate, then choosing which companies get tax relief, or worse, tax relief and subsidies, my State is a prime example of corrupt politics.

Oh they do it in other ways also.... Contracts that either pay exceptionally well, or are given with open ends for cost over-runs... those are very popular... and with a favorite of theirs being 'consulting' work...

I sigh at how much money we waste. Which is why one of my pillars is fighting waste and fraud. I will be very busy with this, but I won't tire until I end this crony capitalism!

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Re: Campaign Issue: Crony Capitalism

modern economy politics as those are practice around the world. why should a company create jobs in Oregon and not in China? because politians support them in many ways. the us-economy can only survive by subsidies.

Bullcrap

AMD does not need subsidies to fight Intel. Ford turned down bailouts. You'rd wrong.

I don't think Firewing is saying AMD needs the subsidies but giving them the option to save money while investing in one economic environment over another is a well-practiced way to entice that company to your market.  Is it not?

I'm not saying the subsidies are a good idea, I think they're wrong when your country has a deficit running in the trillions - my position is from a practical business expenditure POV.

Words will always retain their power.  Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen: the enunciation of truth.

Most companies which are creating a certain amount of jobs get advantages from politics. For example South Carolina read: http://www.goodjobsfirst.org/states/south-carolina
This is how modern economy works and even the Republicans can't change that.
