Re: ~Pinwheel round 66 PvC~

@Wornstrum

It still doesn't change the fact that the racer that tripped or the team that was injured DID NOT WIN. It doesn't matter who "the better team" was. It's all about getting the job done, i.e. "winning" or in this case, "having the most planets" or "having the highest networth".

You have made that argument time and time again, but you still miss the point of my counter argument. Sure the number of planets and high NW will be indicators of who wins, but there are still sports that work on a score based system, and it isn't who wins the last race/game. If you wanted to base it on the "end standings" you would then need to have some kind of finals (like every other sport that uses the "well they came first at the end so that's all that matters"). NW and size are too easily skewed from deletion/inactive players at the start etc. Size is probably more important that NW I would grant that consideration as it is harder to quickly gain planets than it is NW, but by basing the winners on who is able to do a nice "EOR JUMP" takes out the entire rounds worth of effort from fams. I have given examples of this in this round alone where deletion caused teams to drop right down.

It is a score based game, plain and simple, whether you base it on Score, NW, Size, it is going on score/ranks, and it should use the similar scoring systems that get used for competative sports (ie. F1, not about the number of wins necessarily, but based on consistant performance...although if you win all round then you will win of course)...

Basing the final tick's NW and Size is like playing a season of soccer, and the people that enter into the finals are the ones that won in the final round...

I give your invention the worst score imaginable. An A minus MINUS!

Re: ~Pinwheel round 66 PvC~

worstrum 99 did finish 3rd. in planets. which is what counts, NW goes up and down due to wars, jumps and fleet, plantes is the whole reason we play, we look to explore and capture planets, not NW, we fight for planets, we fight for space to explore more planets, we build infra that = nw but we only do that, to gain more planets, increasing our size, so naturally, he who has the most at the end wins. its the way it has always been done in IC and it won't change.

& my fam 99 were 3rd, we couldn't jump at EOR because we warred a fam nearly 2x our size instead of savings for EOR jump, much more fun imo.

Best round ever!

I understand the concept of Size>NW...what if the Score was based solely on planet count calculated as the percentage of planets owned in comparrison of total planets on a tick by tick basis? I am not questioning the importance of planets, but more at the support of a system that provides a fairer way of handling the overall round of some families...Pumpkins were severally disadvantaged towards the end of the round, 5500 also had alot of deletes towards the end （they had a fair few planets towards the end of the round, but lost them all due to deletion).

Both systems have merit I feel, basing it on Size is more like a race, when Score deals more with how you got there...still feel Score is a better indicator of how the family ranked...Also, basing it solely on size, would lead me to more farming towards the end of the round for a quick burst of easy planets...just saying.
