I don't think he's doubting this. However, his goal isn't to get liberals being permanent activists. It's saying "X is a good tactic. Conservatives should do that."

Seriously. That's my argument. This is just stupid. "Be loud, be proud" is just a statement that a person shouldn't have to shy away because of identity characteristics (in this case, beliefs). It's a slogan used for feminists, communists, environmentalists, nationalists, liberals, conservatives... this argument is pretty much a meaningless guilt by association... "you know who was also proud of their identity? THE NAZIS!"
