1.   The whole point of the AGW theory is its unprecedented and unnatural climate developments--requiring some unique and unprecedented source--justifying inferring causation to the correlation between industrialization and climate change.
"Oh crap! Climate is crazy! What new factor could have caused it! --It's US!!!!"

But you can't say "tobacco causes lung cancer to spike" and then say "what other bad personal habits caused diseases in medeval times --what if black Death was caused by constipation"  I mean I know these guys have to write papers to justify tenure, but COME ON

2.   More acres in North America are forested today than when Columbus landed.  this is because we
a) harvest trees and keep lands forested
b) harvest fruits and planted orchards in grasslands
c) like trees near the house and planted trees on grasslands
d) fight forest fires.
