id prefer recycling, a murderer who has taken lives, can give lives(as punishment)

murderer = 2 kidneys, heart, lungs, skin for burn victims, blood etc etc, recycling a murderer instead of simply killing them would be much better.

Actually, there may be a medical problem with harvesting organs from criminals.  Drugs in particular...

Prisons are obviously big drug problem areas, depending on the country, many of which would damage the very organs that would be harvested.  In addition, the execution itself would have to be overhauled so that the execution method wouldn't harm the organs (so the electric chair is pretty much out).  In theory, the organ extraction itself could be the method of execution... except that witnesses attend the executions.  I'm pretty sure it would be considered cruel and unusual to have the family of a death row inmate come to see a doctor remove the criminal's heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, eyes, etc.

Not that I'm necessarily against it... just highlighting some hurdles it would need to overcome.

Bringing back the guillotine would solve all those problems Zarfy.

granted we may watch too much horror movies, but who really wants parts of a murderer in their body just so they can live? and what family really will say, yea, ill have that murders heart for my child....

Its just a psychological issue, which could be over come by making the process anonymous.

the process is anonymous now. but ppl still find out who the donars are. or the family at least. human beings cant help themselves to find out who, what and why for anything really.
