Topic: 2012 Election Predictions

I base my predictions on how Obama is acting, how Democrats in the House and Senate are acting, and how they are responding at the local level.

The House will result in a gain for Republicans, probably 30-40 seats.

The Senate will result in a gain for Republicans of about 8 seats.

The White House is lost, I mean there is no prayer for Obama unless Ron Paul is elected in the Primary, even then it will be close. A fool or a clown...

Local elections wont see a landslide, that happened in 2010. Instead we will see Democrats lose about 10% to 15% of the local elections across the board.

I predict further that in Oregon the House for sure becomes Republican, and I think we will control the Senate also.

This is all based on the various departments continuing their job killing policies. The nation will not stand for it.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

I expect Obama to get another 4 years.
Why?

Because people rather have a clown they know than a clown they don't know. That is the sole reason why George Bush got a second term as well.

Why would you, a representative of the republican party of all people, copy the slogan of Anonymous?
That's weak :\

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

You think I know not of Anonymous, or that I have not worked beside them on one of their few legit efforts?

Besides it fits.

Primo you think the George H. Bush won? Or Carter won his second term?

Think a little more imo.

You can't compare the modern political climate with 20 years back. I can't speak for the USA, but I notice in both the Netherlands as in Belgium that a majority of the (younger) people just don't care about politics anymore.

Einstein, I would never admit affiliation with Anonymous on the internet.

Presidency is not won, it's bought. Whoever will push the pharmaceutical companies, bankers, weapons companies and other big business will win.

I didn't mean that, I just said it's weak to copy their slogan for your own gain or cause..

Nor would anyone involved in Anonymous.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

dont matter who wins, both sides bosses (its the same person) decide annyway. the reason u can pick republican or democrat is just to let the people think their vote counts.

aslong u make people think their vote counts, their happy and wont revolt.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

The election is a toss up.

To many pissed off people right now, pretty much would vote for a write in campaign of someone that's neither a republican or a democrat.

Einstein, why don't you run for president.  Obviously we couldn't do any worse... (smirks).

Actually read yesterdays and todays Oregonian paper, Einstein.  There's a very unique perspective in the Metro section about our current presidential and government 2012 election bid.  The two groups are now racing for the bid to be the next president of the united states, but we still have all these problems which aren't getting fixed or done.  So for an entire year until November 2012, everything will be about who the next president will be.

And that's what everyone is pissed off at the moment about.  Politicians worrying about the next election, and not about the country.

=^o.o^= When I'm cute I can be cute.  And when I'm mean, I can be very very mean.  I'm a cat.  Expect me to be fickle.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

I think Obama is gonna get elected again. Have you watched any of the republican debates? LMAO what a bunch of assclowns!! The only exception is Ron Paul. Hes the only republican candidate who doesnt have his head up his ass. I consider myself a liberal and Ron Paul is someone i could see myself voting for.

And dont get me wrong....im not all "omg Obama is the best president ever wooohoooo!" I voted for him and im disappointed in his presidency thus far. When the dems had control of the house and senate he could of (and should of) taken advantage of it. Sadly he didnt.

Simple fact is: the republican candidates (except Ron Paul) are all mouthbreathers.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

Note to... well... everyone:

"What candidate do you like" and "what candidate will win" are two completely different questions.  Remember, none of us can speak for the nation as a whole.  Although you may think a particular candidate or group of candidates may be terrible for some reason, it's just arrogant of those on either side to think that their judgement that a candidate is bad equates to that candidate being unable to appeal to others, possibly including a demographic which doesn't include that person.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

I am shocked that a known republican and right wing extremist is predicting that the democrats will lose, that doesn't sound at all right...

In a similar vein I will make my own prediction for 2010: I predict that I will get a pay raise in 2012

Now that is done, time to sit back and wait for the money to come in...

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

The Republicans will lose if anyone but Romney is nominated. Then I expect Romney to defeat Obama. Obama is an annoying post-modern and cosmopolitan liberal, and that type of liberal is the most hated by conservative and moderate Americans. Romney, on the other hand, is the only pragmatic, socially liberal and economically conservative option, which reflects most moderate and independent voters. Another plus is his experience in business and politics. However, if a socially conservative Republican is nominated, then Obama is guaranteed victory. Most moderates and independents, who decide elections, have had enough with social conservatives and the crackpot concepts of Democratic Peace and American Exceptionalism. They will vote liberal out of fear of another idiot who will compel moral legislation, employ gunboat diplomacy, commit to expensive military adventures, and disrupt the global balance of power.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

Remember what I was mentioning above about injecting one's own political philosophy as the philosophy of the majority of a country, and using that as the system to determine who wins?  Yeah, that...

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

i think that 40% of america will vote for whoever has the better sounding name becase they didnt bother paying attention

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

Justinian has a good point...however, i dont see Romney getting the nomination mostly because hes a Morman. If he does get the nomination, i have a feeling most moderates wont vote for him because hes a Morman. I dont agree with this line of thinking, its prejudiced and backwards....but....thats how alot of people are in this country.

This being said....the President is but one branch of government. The real problem lies within the house and senate. Too many politicians and not enough problem solvers. I really dont think it matters who gets in office. Nobody can unite the 2 partys anymore. It nearly impossible. Lobbyists for massive corporations and billionaires have our house and senate by the throat.

I'm hopeful. I know there is a lot of ambition in Washington, obviously. But I hope the ambitious realize that they are more likely to succeed with success as opposed to failure.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

I figure Obama for another 4 years.   One, so far he's been honest.

All the republican candidates have so far have slung mud, lied, don't know their history, or have the inability to work across the table with their democrat partners.

Granted if the Republicans win the white house, they still have to deal with a democratic controlled senate, and right there, they'd have a tough time passing any laws.  The House and the Senate right now don't see eye to eye, so  unless the republicans get enough senate seats, their not going nowhere with ANY campaign promises.

President.  House.  Senate.  You only need one to road block the rest.  All three have to be in agreement, or the House and Senate have to be in Majority agreement to pass laws without the presidents authority.

So yah.  I see Obama in the white house for another 4 years.  Because the current republican choices are all ass hats.

Re: 2012 Election Predictions

I don't know who will win, I just know that it will be a poisoned chalice for them for four years. After that they will publish a book and make millions on the lecture circuit.
