For the record AA, I was being serious about my suggestion.
1. Get rid of yamas (I personally think they hurt the game).
2. Enhance VIP's by offering the choice of a special race (for each type) or an extra 20 points (can be adjusted if needed) for a custom race.
3. Replace worthless ops with some fresh ones.
4. Consider making drafts only available in VIP galaxies to try and balance out the power.
5. Advertise in some form the game to get fresh people to join, and then ensure a system is in place so that they are welcomed, taught, and not farmed/forced away from the game.
I still play this game because I have played for over 10 years now. The reason I play is that I realise the strategy involved and still enjoy talking with people I have somewhat gotten to know over this time. However, if not for that I would not play the game as all there is are the "core" players who beat up and farm anyone who is weak.
The problem with this is that every new player is weak....maybe you should consider having a "simulation" galaxy setup somehow that runs ticks at a faster pace in order to help people learn how to play the game sort of fast forwarded so when they do actually reach a normal galaxy they actually know what is going on. And do not make it like Virgo where only new players are with teachers because we all know most of the teachers were worthless anyways....make it like 4 fams of unlimited players with atleast 10 people in each fam who are willing to teach the new guys as they join in a fam effort.
Also, lets just say that you do start a "fast-forwarded" training galaxy. Ensure that it ends and restarts often enough so that the mentors are not just growing huge and aiding out people. The idea is that people can learn from a SOR setup to an EOR setup.
Just my few cents....
