Topic: My time has come to say goodbye

Hello all my dear friends

As I am writing this, I am sitting in an airplane heading for Madrid. Here I will attend a two weeks new employee program for Ernst & Young. As you might understand, I have finished university and am now embarking on a new task, one that actually requires some effort. It is with quite some emotion that I have come to realise that this will likely mean the end of my time in IC. I will ofcoure pop in from time to time to troll the forums and chat up some of my old mates, but I cant see any possibility for me to be able to play complete rounds within the next few years.

I know I am in the company of many others when I say that IC truly has been a large chapter of my life. Spanning over as much as 11 years it is by far my longest lasting and most time-consuming spare time activity. I have had some great times, some annoying times and some sad times. Ups and downs as in rest of life, but I was always filled with new insipration and dedication when a new round was about to start.

I will not be writing an autobiography of my rounds, mostly because i do not have the elephant memory of PP or the grandior delusions of Baratheon, but secondly because in the end they do not matter. What matters, and what makes up IC, is the people that I have shared these 11 years with.
I will therefore make a feeble attempt at listing and writing a small greeting to my most memorable friends here. Once again I must remind you that my memory is not flawless, and if you do feel left out, it is most likely simply because i have made a mistake, you are not forgotten!, please shout out, and I will sincerely apologize for my error and include you!

The list will be written in some semi-chronological order, depending on my memory!

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

haha...since u bugged me on msn to give u your farewell msg...here it is=P

one of the best team players i have ever played with...had the honour of playing with him for several rounds throughout these 11 years of my IC career...taught me a lot of the knowledge i have now...esp start strats and always a fun and nice guy to have around since he will be doing most of the planning and i can lay back and relax...one of the fiercest attackers too seeing how he singlehandedly won the SD 3 man fam with me and BlackJoker...even after i got nuked to oblivion twice in the same round=P

im sure u will be back some day...maybe when u finally get out of auditing=P pls keep in touch and i will most probably be visiting norway sometime next year!will be sure to find u then!

In other news, no-one really leaves IC...you will work..you will figure out what your timeschedule will allow..and you will return.

That said...and in case you get struck by mad cow disease, which I hear strikes people more often in Spain...

Fare thee well. You have earned your leave with flying colors. As far as IC goes, to me you are the best econ-runner ever to have played this game...as long as people listen.
Too aggressive at times, but always willing to listen to reason when push came to shove.
Was a blast meeting up with you, Satan and Hoffman, and maybe one day we will do something similar again...and maybe not, life takes us unexpected turns;)
Good luck in your future endeavours, and prepare yourself mentally that I will recruit you once I am done in my university-run. I'll need a good economist and planner, so that I can create my robot-army and successfully take control of this planet.

In all my rounds (A lot of those since Mw.4)  I don't think we ever played with or really against each other. Which doesn't matter, it is just sad when another iconic player leaves this game smile

Good luck to you! Even if there is a big chance you turn up sooner or later as Damon says. Like poor me sad

Hey Noir good luck with the new chapter in your life. Had fun in several round with you including the round with the carrot pic. I am pretty sure I still have that with the poem on it to wastelander smile  I will see if I can did that up! Come back to visit and keep us posted on your adventures.

Aaah Noir, I liked you better when you used your full name tongue

So I was looking for a draft for AYB one time, and remembered seeing this NoirCavalry person several times at the top of the andro ranks... It was andro, but he couldn't be too horrible so I decided to approach him. Surprisingly Noir said yes straight away and that was the birth of one of the most successful partnerships in the history of IC.

Noir caught my attention as a banker, but we decided he would attack with me, and it turned out very well. That round where we beat spooky's fam at EOR where i had over 20mill figs and you had 40mill droids will never be forgotten big_smile

As Noir mentioned, the following round Jaguar rejoined the fam and the deadly trio ruled the galaxy for a good while, for the better part of a year I think smile and then went on to force the mods to prematurely end Andromeda cause we were just too good tongue

I had alot of fun playing with you and you are certainly one of the best I've had the pleasure to play alongside with  Good luck with this new stage of your life, I wish you all the best Carl smile
