Topic: Scott McClellan's Memoir -- What happened

i was waiting for someone to post this, and through all the obama's a liar, and obama's that, and jimmy carter threads, i couldn't find this thread

i know you guys know what this is about, but for those who don't ..here's a little insight into the news

"Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan names names in a caustic passage from a forthcoming memoir that accuses President Bush, Karl Rove and Vice President Cheney of being "involved" in his giving the press false information about the CIA leak case.

McClellan

Re: Scott McClellan's Memoir -- What happened

Rove said McClellan sounded like a liberal blogger and he is right. The charges are familiar to people who have argued online about Bush. Not rapid olberman style chaitred, but the more moderate 9omplaints.

For instance, the idea that Katrina was a massive federal failure. McClellan is close enough to the top to know Katrina wreaked havoc in five states, an area the size of Ireland. Only in New Orleans was there a debacle, and that came with a governor who refused to federalize the National Guard, a mayor who refused to evacuate in advance of the storm, and a police force that walked off the job. Federals are NOT first-responders. McClellan focuses on Bush took a bad photo.

One of the stories is just damned dumb. McClellan can't believe Bush doesn't remember if he did coke or not. "How can thatpossibly be true?" Wonders Scott McClellan. I guess the guy has never been totally f'd up.

McClellan says he saw Rove and Libby meet in a hallway. This MUST mean they were conspiring on a cover story regarding Plame. Had to be!  What else could it be?

Libby: What is thy bidding my master?
Rove: There is a grave disturbance in the press. The one known as McClellan may become a danger to us.
Libby: He is but a boy. Ari Fliescher is no longer a guide to him.
Rove: He must be destroyed! The son of McClellan must not become a network Washington bureau chief.
Libby: If he could be turned, he would be a powerful ally.
Rove: WTF kinda--ern Yes, yes he would.  Good looking out there Scooter--you go turn him and I'll uh keep, busy, with...other stuff...yes.

All McClellans coworkers say he never said anything of the sort before now. It sounds like he has been doing a little message shaping himself to get a cushy commentator gig.

Re: Scott McClellan's Memoir -- What happened

but a insider to the bush administration, a personal friend to bush, and someone who bush himself picked, when he says something like this, it's gotta have more an impact than when lets say, clinton says it

Re: Scott McClellan's Memoir -- What happened

He did a lot of talking in front of cameras touting Bush and people believed him then.
