POley: Its always hard to say what strats are good or not, ultimately it has to correndpond with your goals. Imo Income bonus is rather crucial, and i would be very vary to recommend anything less than 30%. Atm im a bit unsure about sciene, ofcourse depends on the length of the round, but it does take alot of time to get and uses up alot of race points unless you are playing as quantam. So i think id recommend something like either pax or quantam and stay defensive, or get 50% income and speed, drop science and go on the offense

yea well Poley strat is just shit

he taking his allies planets and leaving them with some so they can expo 6 planets a day for Poley to have

this round has been full of shit like this and mods dont do shit about it.

Tbh there should be the "no changing allies" rule, given that we wanna have allies at all tongue.. Imo also it would be alot more interesting with a preset market like we have had before, as it would give a lot more strategic wiggleroom.


And mods dont tell me its not possible, cause with PS it is tongue... c ya after summer tongue

a note for mods, how a real SS round must be dealt:

No naps, no allies, only the war option in relations page.
Market disabled (like it is now).
Autodelete speech for inactive players after 48h from BoR
Delete empire is disabled from the very 1st time you join the gal


I know still people will do IAs and naps, but they are 'unofficial' so, in a SS gal, last man standing, will you trust an unofficial nap?
So there's no excuse, alliances and naps cannot be declared ilegal, but yes unofficial, so they're like wet paper, if you do a nap or alliance with another empire it is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This is not a perfect solution, but imo it's a step forward to get back the real SS hardcore spirit

lol was waiting for someone to mention this... One of my allies doesn't have time for SD anymore, I'm putting his planets to better use and if you're going to point the finger how bout you get your shit straight! I took planets in a rather TBO-esk manner for about 3 ticks, i haven't touched him or his newly explored planets since. He helped me out as an ally since he wasn't doing shit else... I blew infra cos i was bigger and haven't had any time to utilize anything with them cept waste ressies and gc on building defenses on them.

Profiteering? Hardly... Since i have 2 tri's gang banging me at the moment i cant shit with the door closed in case i miss a nuke coming through the front door. Ultimately they will end up with the planets, I made my him easy enough to kill now, why don't you man up and do some attacking.

Indeed, found progressing past the initial days really hard on +20% income. OHs cripple me to a point of barely being able to send 3 fleets a tick. I dont think I would look at anything other than 50% income. Heavy op preset races may be able to play defensively but still need the econ to work sufficiently, usually that means they ignore attacks for as long as possible and infrawhore crazily till they can support a heavy enough agent/wizzie fleet. Still dangerous if caught out, as you would know wink

Basically, you need droids. You need something on the higher side of income bonus. Speed is super handy if you want to play offensively. Attack bonus does little to nothing until later in the round. The rest can be to suit your play style really. Some ops would be compulsory for minor surveillance etc.

although i like allies, won't bother playing SD without as it just gets too stale and boring for me.

I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
