That's what started me thinking about it. I figure if they are seperate galaxies too it gives people the choice.

Well if it doesn't matter to you Gennvw, in what way was your post constructive?

The speed of the start is all important in galaxies such as SD. But also there is the convenience of being able to co-ordinate with people for the start of the round, use of resources within the team, etc.

You will still have people with different levels of activity and that are on at different times, people will still play with other people they get along with, but rather than some suffering all the time the suffering can be shared. In answer to your specific points:

This seems to be two points in the one. In answer to people having friends from afar, this is very true. I have plenty of friends from afar. It would be nice, however, if I could share the suffering of key important points that happen, for example playing turn and turn about in galaxies with them (Playing in early gal round 1, late round 2, early round 3, etc). I can't say whether it will result in an empty galaxy, I hope not

As with any galaxy there will be people who are active at different times. Even if the early start suits them, it may be the end of the day for some and the start of the day for others, so there will still be varied times when people are on. I don't think that aspect will be taken away too much.

Mods aren't needed at the start of the round The BOR is all preset when they first open the galaxy.

The effect of starting the round at 05:00 will pretty much only have an impact on the first 24 hours or so of the round, after that family activity reverts to depending on who you have in your fam and which timezone they're in. The fact that your banker goes to sleep when you wake up is all down to who is in your fam and how you've been paired up rather than the round start start time.

Wouldn't starting a galaxy at 05:00 alienate the European player base which (probably) forms a major bulk of IC players? As a result, they may be more reluctant to join, resulting in an emptier galaxy.

What about changing the regular start time so that it is more universal to all time zones? For example: 21:00 GMT.
This way the start time across the world will take place when most people are awake.
PST: 13:00
EST: 16:00
GMT: 21:00
Europe: 22:00
AUS: 07:00
NZ: 09:00

Compared to what we have now. 17:00 GMT
PST: 09:00
EST: 12:00
GMT: 17:00
Europe: 18:00
AUS: 03:00
NZ: 05:00
