Why not make a defense station that acts like a family portal?
-Game Bots-
I think some form of a game bot would be a good idea. Having the game play completely on it's own; however, would definitely cheapen the game. If we could limit it to 12 hours worth of autopilot, at which time the bot needs to be recharged, it would actually make the game more competitive for someone who has to work, or sleep. I am very active, but I lose plenty of time while I am at work and not near a pc. A person with a job near a computer all day has at least 12hours more time than I do. I would like to see some more input on this idea.
r3quim you aren't taking into account the structure of this game.
Everything is multiplicative. The more family members the more planets the faster the family can become overpowered.
And you also refuse to realize that there are new players to this game all of the time. And besides that there are players who can only login once a day. You can't punish these people by making things increasingly easy for over-active players.
This game ISN'T about making the game better for super-active super-organized families while unfortunate players who wind up in low population families (or ones that can't be as active) get destroyed by those overpowered families.
There are limits to what you can change about a game before half of the player base just up and disappears because nobody wants to play a game where you have a 50/50 chance of either landing in a decent fam and maybe being in the top 10 or landing in a family that will never make it even halfway up the rankings no matter how hard they try.
what we need is speed. World is faster. Computerts are faster, RL wars are faster, and time it self are faster, exept years in IC.
I truly belive unpatient people could use half hour ticks. It could been tried out for one round here in MW for instance, where experienced players can review it as we play.
Possible implications: The active players get more done.
Possible side effects: The other lacy players realise, its more action, and gets pulled into more acivity again. A battle between 2 players, that lasted for 4 days because of travel time, now can be over in.... 2 ![]()
Boredom is the killer in the game. Shorter tick times could cure it.
A family fleet where every family member can station troops and that will be used to defend planets from planets in fam with a portal or a special portal. With the attack % of the stationed units intact of the race of the player who stationed it there or a combined % from all fam mambers.
I like the buying family portal is a great idea. You are only allowed so much, say two at any one time. They cost 6x your families nw. Once you build it on a planet, it stays, unless you destroy it or it gets destroyed. they take twice the time to build then a regular portal to build. This can make for quick action andadd intresting and infinite possibilities and strategies.
Could be fun.
How about an android app? I know it would be a lot of coding, but it would allow people who kind of have social lives and want to play more do so without trying to see what the hell's going on on a little touch screen. Besides, it would get it out there more and theyre already set up for donations. I love the way this game is, I just wish i could update it on my breaks at work, sitting at the coffee shop, etc.
PS-Thank you to the entire team for what you do, it really has been an amazing game for years, and i cant say how great it is to see that its still around despite all the damned facebook bs imitation game types

> The one thing that was said too often was the larger families having an advantage over smaller ones. This is rediculous! Of course larger families will have an advantage over smaller ones! They worked harder, strategized better, and played together better! And now you want to hold them back from certain priveleges? Because they are good they can't get special treatment? NEWS FLASH! Large families always have and always will have an advantage! Don't deprive the gameplay due to this reason. I think this is just a crappy excuse as to why they don't want to do something to change IC.
Hahaha. have you ever read atlas shrugged? This is the common misinterpretation of lezefaire capitalism. the point isnt to hold back the bigger families, its to not give them a greater advantage, to keep the playing field consistent with your level instead of an exponential increase
atlas shrugged they made a movie bout that book... its realy good! cant wait til second part gets out,.
""---- Family Banks ----
The general idea of a fam bank is having a central place to store GC and/or resources, with the ability to withdraw and deposit whenever you like.

A common response to this idea is, "This is not Imperial Savings 'n' Loans, this is Imperial Conflict". The reason we say this is that we already have a problem with players saving up too much money for EOR (End of Round) jumps. Large families have the current ability to raise and save billions of GC and millions of resource units currently with the system we have now. In fact it got so out of hand that we had to introduce Beaucraucy in order to shave a percentage off of the total savings that people had in storage in order to entice them to spend their GC instead of saving it. Now knowing this and know that we currently already have a problem with people saving too many resources and GC already, why would we implement an idea that goes against what we are trying to accomplish; that being getting people to save less, spend more, and spend more times fighting and playing the game. It goes the basic principles of the game.""
A really easy way to get it back to an attacking game would be eliminate the morale planet limits. Why attack much if you can't attack much? There was more fighting then. Now, once I hit negatives, there is no reason to come back and attack more for 5+ hours because I just won't be able to do much which means... more inactivity. The morale planet limit simply lowers attacking and desire to play.
Stollen from a game that was basically identical but now completely dead last 5 years atleast....
Vortex portal . an opp that allows you to create a portal in a system for a fee ticks
Gravitational waves
- cast on yourself to decrease distance /travel time to a specific system.
- cast on enemy to increase his travel time.
