The details can be worked out and hcanged from round to round, we have to be careful tho, if the price is too high for buy or two low for sell, people might simply stop producing iron at all.. Its not ment as a way to substitute an balanced production, but to make market more reliable and usable

The crazy spreads is the problem and the GE can still work, the problem is just that market nowadays is a joke due to the lack of players

Socialist intervention in market economics only creates unsustainable economic systems, encouraging inefficient productivity.  Any centralized price planning system will inevitably diverge from what natural markets would charge, driving the system into inevitable resource shortages.

In addition, you can't control all markets.  If the legal method to exchange is controlled, illegal markets will inevitably take its place, creating a completely uncontrolled industry alongside the currently existing legitimate market.

food would cost 5.00?
and how does this work? atificial bids so when the round starts everyone can buy endu instead of it getting locked at 50.00 for the first 16 weeks?

wouldn't this effectively remove the need to produce certain things? aswell how would that effect storing cash on the market, and market blocks durring large wars.

i think this may work if the market price max/min is changed but as for atificial bids i think that would effectively take apart the teamwork that we all strive for.

IMO the market is much more beneficial for smaller families. yes they have less to work with but your working on a feild thats filled with larger bids from big families. this makes it easier to trade your smaller portions and turn a profit that is significant to your smaller family.

if your having trouble getting your trades to go through and there is a large gap the obvious answer is to cut the gap down. that will make people more willing to trade. or if you watch the market shift throughout the day you can capitalize on the overall shift in the price.

I think for new players a liberated market is more interesting than a fixed market.
They can play around with the market a little bit and some of them get attracted and maybe stay to learn more of the game.

As well one of the great things in IC is/was the market. If everything becomes predictable, where is the fun in it???
Its much more interesting if you dont know what happens to the market. Sure for the big experienced families with bankers that make 10+ million gc per tick
a fixed market is great. however it will let them dominate even more the game. How new players should be attracted like that???

To me, a fixed market would make IC less attractive to play...
