Topic: E-Mail Alerts

How about it? Either for msgs from family members or for certain recent events.

I'd love to be able to choose the option to receive email alerts whenever i get an ingame msg from one of my family members or if hostile actions have happened (incoming spells/ops/non-family attacks)

maybe if you can choose which types of messages you receive?  for example, you can subscribe to certain reports/messages that you wish to be emailed about like in game messages/opps.  this would work in the same type of way that you can subscribe to different forum topics.  that way you can cut down somewhat on the emails you receive

Yeah thats what i was thinking. I don't want to get spammed emails from someone in another family spamming me ingame. And if someone from my own fam is taking planets from me, it's generally by design so i don't want to know about that either.

@EM: Because i have gmail and my phone alerts me whenever i get a new email through gmail. Plus texting may cost money for certain phone plans

Funny u propose that, like 15 years ago i had a friend playing a planets game and was receiving alerts on his bipper when he was attacked. When i started this game i thought it was this game tongue

I guess if they could do that 15 years ago, it must not be difficult to do that now.
Could be a vip option...

One major problem:

Speaking on behalf of terrible bankers throughout IC, I oppose anything which will inevitably force me to clear out 300 messages sent within the course of 5 minutes, each being another reminder of my failure.

The only thing you'll have to worry about are angry msgs from the family you were leading once you've gone inactive and never come back... speaking from experience with you... tongue
