Someone might have thought of something similar before, but here goes anyway:

You know how it's stupid that if you send a fleet to a system a couple of ticks away and take a planet, you cannot use the same fleet to take another planet in the same system where you're units are stationed?

-Double the upkeep and food of however much fleet you have on the fleet station. (Ground crews and such to support the fleet and maintain the station)

-Sending it places costs 3x-4x what it costs to send a fleet to a planet in a non-portalled system and moves at 0% speed no matter the race speed bonus

-Stations to a planet not a system. If planet is attacked defends with fleet on board like stationed troops on a planet maybe with a 10% defense bonus.

-Can only launch successive attacks if you've taken a planet and have stationed the...station...

-Real use of the station would be that you can launch multiple attacks from it within a system without having a portal.

-Would have to decide how much fleet could be lost before the Station were destroyed. Maybe 75% loss of fleet mirroring loss of planets for a DS

-Maybe limit how often units can be stationed. Can't station if you've stationed troops within the past 3 ticks or something.

-Limit to 1 per family or 1 per person

yes, it is why we build Portals, and why we have Infiltrate, Planetary Infrustructure OPs... gotta do some work for your planets atleast... Farming would have a new Era... Super Farming Stations coming to a Galaxy near you? I dont want to see it... keep the Ideas coming though wink

I agree that that it has potential to be overpowered, but maybe there's a way around it.

I like Gondor's input. Especially limiting it to 1 person/family. The fleet admiral might be a good choice .. if i'm not mistaken you have to wait a while every time you apoint a new fleet admiral.

wait...this is not a bad idea, but it is complicated to implement if you want it exactly that way (as a stationed playstation in a stational station)

the fun thing is we have this already implemented, but not using it at all ...

Right now, when you send a fleet to a planet, you send a 'concrete fleet' to a 'concret planet', well ...
Lets say now you send 3k bombers 4k figs and 10k droids (with transports) to a planet but you click a button called "convoy", then the fleet you send hovers the full system not only the planet, and you can choose what you use from the convoy to attack each planet in the system.
So you can use do some PIs or IPs and send

110 bombers 350 figs 8 transports to planet 1
130 bombers 50 figs 3 transports to planet 4
'everything' left in the convoy to planet 5 (cause you found it is a portal)

^there's a button to select everything like the one you have when sending a fleet (its actually the same button)

Well did you get the idea?? you emptie the convoy on the system, and the fleets stay stationed in the planets they take (you cannot get them back to the convoy, just recall them to main fleet).  The convoy itself disappears when all the fleet contained in it have been used.

This is not u're idea SOL I know, but its something similar and very doable, since the code is already there, Ps only has to add the button "convoy" and the effects of it when a fleet arrives

And this should not be an extra (the cost of sending a convoy should be the cost of sending to 1 planet * number of planets in the targeted system) I mean no other restrictions than the cost, and available to everyone like a standard game option.

im with the idea, but render, to avoid it being OP.... which is sending 100k droids... ect ect... make it so only certain percentages can be broken off of the main fleet
main fleet is -
100k droids
10k trans
100k figs
20k bombers


lets say 5/10/20% PER convoy sent out...
i trust you can all do simple math........save Primo or Glue...

that would limit its.... farming motives to satisfy those pansies out there, but would also keep it in play for the guys who would actually use it

OR make it so once the 'convoy' has made an attack on a planet(after being on the Death Star IE Offence Station), have it have a cooldown or something... like 3x the normal wait time or... make them half as effective on the defence after taking a planet due to having not enough morale support or some BS

just throwing drunken ideas out there
