Re: Way of The Banker

You are correct, i was misinformed about the starting population and a rev does indeed reach a pop of 10k after 13 ticks if the starting pop is 5k.

As for the rest of your post, i do see your point as you have a fast growth with 720 CF and wait for the population of 20 LQ"s to grow and slowly build the popper as the time progresses and the population reaches maximum pop. It is most likely the best strategy if you want to start out as a popbanker which saves you the switching later in mid-round, however I believe only top families with the best coordination would be able to pull that off. But I guess it is an alternative to the switching from tax to pop during mid-round.

Re: Way of The Banker

Interesting reading here, didnt saw this thread until now. As you both say, to much is theoretic and not the same as real gameplay and one other thing it seems nobody calcs with is the researchpart wich benefits the pop much more since there are 2 factors that affect the incoem compared to Cf-banking that stays with pure Econ research.
yes, cheaper research but much lower income in the long run and the pop beats the Cf pretty fast.

As Noir says, starting with pop aint easy and it aint useless either casue you have to take in the fact of the other players and a pop strat from start demands much lesser ressies wich means other players can grow faster then if all bankers go pure cf.

Then when it comes to later in round, say 2-3 weeks, when research comes in as important part its end of discussion between pop and cf, especially now when they increased the max pop from 500 to 650, thats 30% more than before and a huge advantage.

For example i can show my common test in real fam. I dont say this is optimal but due to different factors like short time left, hard long war behind, nukes and stuff i now invested huge into research, built extreme to-ratio since i didnt wanted more nw (for research issues) but with puny infra at 80k buildings i do make 6mill cash atm and average ob is just above 100%.

Think of that scenario from start, alright, i got 153 planets but nearly non are above 100%, that means extreme cheap infra compared to a cf-banker. If i did this from start i prolly would been at this income before midround, maybe even earlier, and then able to aid out to 100%, no need for more ressies, isnt that the perfect banker? smile

Re: Way of The Banker

Ye Nandro nice to see you here, and you are really enforcing what i said, with the improved LQs and low OB the advantage of a pop banker at start is that at 100% OB you make the same as a CFer on 300%

Re: Way of The Banker

Sidenote amar:

60% more income, same amount of buildings?

In case of revalons (who produce 12.8 cash each tick, not net)

100 cfs => + income= 1280 cash

- 100 (buildings) = added net income of 1180

30 TO = 60% extra income
70 cfs = 896 cash => + income= 896*1.6 = 1433.6 cash

- 100 (buildings) = added net income of 1333.6

Same amount of buildings, 13% more income. Not 60%. You can debate about cf/to % but thats not what i'm proving here.

thats just after i read your first post.

Re: Way of The Banker

What is the best way to start CF banking and then switch to pop? do you build CF/RC 75/25 and then when you get enough planets swap the CF's out for LQ and the RC out for TO?

<&InSaNe> so for reference tco has a ticklish bumhole
<@SerialBusiness> good to know. I will make a note of this

Re: Way of The Banker

TO/RC... Switching to LQ/TO... Works wonderfully if you're not the main banker at start and can just turtle

Re: Way of The Banker

If you are a main banker and are required to build cf what's the best way to go about switching?
