on thursday may 5th at 615 i recieved a call that my son had been air lifted to saint louis childrems hospital with major head trauma. this trauma cause his brain to swell in side the skull putting his life in jeopordy in order to help relieve the pressure they went directly to OR and placed whats called a bolt in his head to help relieve the pressure. as well as put the nessecary monitering equipment in place for the next several days. they could immediatly tell that there was much more pressure than this could handle, so they with our consent proceeded to undergo a second surgery in which they called a "bone flap" what this intails is that they cut a good size portion of his skull out to allow the brain to swell. the following 3 days were a roller coaster ride. at night his pressures would spike and we feared that the pressure would soon be enough to start destroying parts of the brain that were still intact, or even damaged. durin the day he would fight and seem to be for what the situation was doing good. at the time he wasnt breathing on his own and they beleived he was most likely btrain dead. on the second day. he began hgis fight. the pressures staryted to drop and he began to react to thing occasionally such as tuoching his feet on may 8th he took a turn for the worse and the pressures got so high they did what we had feared all blood flow was stopped to the brain from the swelling. they began running a series of four tests all of which turned up no brainwave activity. on the fourth and finall test which was finshed at 10.07 pm centeral standard time on may 8th even though they were keeping the rest of his body alive onb life support. in the state of missouri when ur found to have no brain activity you are declaired legally dead. but with the above mentioned all of his other organs were still very intact and had no damage, we opted to donate his organs to help save the lives of other childrens. via Mid-america transplant services. i take extreme comfort and joy in knowing that my loss will bring so much joy to other families.

we recieved medals for our decision prsented to us for our desicion. and here is an short paragraph from the letter that came with the medals describing the in speration from the designer of these medals.

"the Gift of Life Donor touches and gives new life to others.The donor touches the hand of the recipient, and passes on the precious gift of life(the heart) and love(the rose). This magnificent and honorable giving of ones self is illustrated in the rays extending from the heart."

with this program we will anonymously recieve letters from the recipents of his "gifts" and be able to see the lives he saves. and later if we choose to we will be able to remove that veil of animinty. and i am very excited and anxious to begin recieveing these.

Child abuse is no laughing matter things like this happen everyday, i beg that you guys support groups that fight child abuse as well as organ donation. its been a very long 4 days for both mine and jesie family we hope you all keep us in your thoughts and prayers. and please count your blessings of your children its not fair that last night the cutest, most full of life child i have ever knowns life was taken from him at the hands of someone he barley knew.

I dont com ehere for sympathy im here to make the people aware. iv decieded to give my life to helping these organizations and stopping child abuse. and i urge you to help these organizations as well.
