I have read in quite a few places that custom pop banking races can actually be better than Revalons but I havnt seen anyone actually post what the pop bank race would be that would over turn Revalon. Discuss.

Haha i did read the other threads and alot of them read that custom poppers can keep up with Rev's because of of the extra research
Last round I used this race.
Population growth: 20%
Income: 50%
Research: 40%
Attack: -30%
Magic: -30%
Spells
<none>
Operations
Infiltrate
Planetary Infrastructure
Specials
Tax Office
Advantage: Research goes up fast, made for maximizing income and no opping
Dissadvantage: Slow pop (re)generation, low magic defense, (barely) no opps

long story short. go revalon. no hard ops a pop banker is dumb.
Revalons or
Custom but:
no or 10% pop growth
50% income bonus, 50% research
Spells: SA
Opps: Infil, PI
(or whatever spell or opp you think is interesting, personnal choice, also depends on family ofcourse).
+ to's ofcourse.
I don't think you'll get a big advantage out of it vs revalons, but having pi/infil and sa comes in quite handy. I personnaly think 20% pop growth is too much, but i'm no pop banker 
If u go custom it is to get a higher pop growth in my opinion
I don't think higher is a necessity tbh. If you start off with pop (which is perfectly possible in active and reliable family, they can cover it easily) you don't need it and so you can spend race points on something else.
Remo asked for custom race and still there are some benefits (research, choise of spells and opps) but downsides as well ofc. Its up to the pop banker to see what he likes the most...

revs or pax, custom sucks
Pax is safe and possible. But do mind you have a way lower income and research bonus than custom and an even bigger diff in income compared to revs. I wouldnt choose for pax, but it can be used if its necessary. I think pax is best to stay small, which is a contradiction to pop banker

i understand custom race if that was directed at me, i am saying, there is no comparison with custom races. revs income bonus is out weighs it. & imo, pax with that magic bonus and opps is best option. think about it, one thing all poppers have is a high wizz count. teamed with 70% magic bonus & all the ops, a top pop banker can be devastating in a war, & yes i know the high nw is a disadvantage. but i've used it many a time and i think it works. especially if you're not in a top family.

so to sum this all up, am i right in saying there is no best race between Rev and custom? it just all comes down to preference? or do you think the Rev would win out with its 10% higher income bonus vs the custom 20% increase in research?
If rev has 30% econ bonus a custom has got only 4-5% extra income. So income-wise a revalons win. If its 50% they still cant make up the 10% race income diff. And 50% is quite high. So if you go custom don't do it for income, do it for opps and maybe higher con for when you switch. Also not for magic which is -30%(custom) instead of -10%(revalons).
I say revalons is better, if you go for custom, why the hell dont you have opps? that 10% extra pop growth doesnt make diff in top fam kenpachi so thats just a waste compared to having SA/infil/PI... name on

So I would like to say this- As a large pop pax, the amount of wizzie necessary on offensive ops with a high pop/ planet count sucks. I had 2+ mil wizzie and was working on hypno another pop banker with like 600k wizzie and failed miserably- as well as failing non hard ops on smaller targets losing 100k wizzie per attempt. With that being said I think your safe defensively being a pax- offensively you lose your edge- but with such high wizzie counts it cuts into your income even further with the shitezy income bonus. My question which has been brought up is this...
Also I propose this question: with active oppers and and active SOR role with a pop banker, what is the negatives to it. So say 30% pop growth, 50% income, normal rc with SA and TO... You have the advantage of being able to expo and keep your pop growth going as well as being jumped by researchers along the way.
So I ask a strategist to analyze a day one start with 7 TOs and then building jumping all your bankers and family to normal start. Then getting to halfbuild with LQ or TO on the popper planet and having built 6 expos and have the researcher expo for the banker as well- expo and half build for the pop banker. Keeping the pop banker active in growth and early expos is the benefit to the custom with SA. Revalon pop typically are last to be seen in your typical strat.
Also, on a side note- how would changing to -30 magic and adding the equal amt of research benefit with a RC build for start effect the popper with the above benefits (SA and pop bonus). Has this been tested?

You take higher research to compensate for the extra income that revs have over a custom. You should be able to calculate whether its worth to go down that path.
