Topic: Samsung GT-i9000 Galaxy S 8GB

Im looking for a new cell phone, and thinking of getting the Samsung GT-i9000 Galaxy S 8GB, anyone has this phone. If so how is it?


Also anyone have thoughts on other cell phones ?

Hey Star99, new model is Samsung Galaxy SII (February, Barcelona 2011).

Problem when product sales..... possibly in april.

I have that phone, and i am really happy with it. Only thing i will say is that it is a bit glitchy at time, in the sense it gets slow sometimes, but other than that i like it, better functionality than iphone

Samsung Galaxy S is very nice! but Samsung Galaxy SII is much better (32 gigas).. you need to wait... when sell in market europe... big_smile

Spain possibly in April... so in other countries April?

I agree with aleph! If you can spare the extra cash, it is worth to wait for the Galaxy SII.

[edit:add] Or go for the HTC EVO 3D. That phone is hot too!!!! Too bad it will probably be an American phone only.

i had one for a week, i took it back. htc desire pwns it all over..

Ya a friend has said the same thing, But why... what is so different, the screen is like only .3 inc bigger.... they have the same thing, in fact with the HTC u need to format any vidios u watch on there, where the Galaxy S can just play them straight up, so told the sales person. And he also said the the S has better sound quality.


Aleph and Leroy Brown, i have talked to some sales people and they said that if i do want to go for the Galaxy SII i should wait a few months (6-8) cuz he said the price will be way too high and also there will be alot of problems ppl will find, and for them to fix it.... also he told me that they might pushing back the release date because of what has happened in Japan, as the manufacture of the chips for the phone was in Japan, and so they have shut up shop for now..... so they might be moving the manufacturing to China, but he said the quality of the chip wont be the same any more....



So im want to do sad

Also wats the main difference between S and SII? its just the processor right?

Oh star sweetie, you never listen to the sales people, you research yourself.  What they put in a better light isn't the product that is better for you, its the product that will give them the best commission big_smile

the Galaxy has some bugs yes, and these bugs will be corrected in new one comming out, much like how iphone corrents its bugs with each new version

for the galaxy, you have to install kies, and then you can transfer vids right away without converting. Its only some of the uniquer formats that mite not work.

and if u still confused, just youtube some videos, you will tons of info there big_smile

The Galaxy SII has a larger screen and is faster due to bigger RAM and a speedy dual core processor. Plus all kinds of useless small things which are better and or improved.

As for the price: The older a phone gets the cheaper it becomes. Like all other products.

As for which phone to pick. If you want it right now and not too expensive I would advice a HTC Desire. Either the regular, the HD or the S version. Depending on how good/big you want it to be smile

the prices for both around the same only 10-20$ diffrent.


also the galaxy s has a super AMOLED screen which makes it looks much better then the Desire.....

Is the AMOLED thingy actually something you notice? tongue

The regular Desire is about 75 euro cheaper than the Galaxy S.
The Desire S and HD are more expensive but are better and or have a bigger screen.

In the end you gotta go with what has the best reviews, fits your budget and what looks nice smile
I think the regular galaxy S is ugly and the specs are not top notch anymore at this point! tongue So I am probably going to take the SII. (my contract is ending soon! smile)
