I refuse to cheer Cameron on the grounds that he's a toffee-nosed pillock, who is worse than She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named (think back to the 80's), and is raping our country down to the ground.
China votes against cause they will get the oil contracts if he wins. France and Brittain lost everything and have everything to gain. It has nothing to do with them being bold. But I'm glad they will finally act. I hope its not to late.
LP, China didn't vote against the proposal, they abstained.
Qaddafi's ruthless actions are unimpressive compared to other countries around the world. The only reason that Britain and France are intervening here is because of oil and refugees.
YOU LIE
its also fun
well Spain nato bases will be used by USA fighters, I hope Zapatero gets our asses covered from Lybian nukes
or else we're a target
What's going on? I haven't seen any more news about Libya on the American news stations ![]()
al andalus is already a target, remember
@wfs:
correction:
tried there best to stop nato/UN from acting against Qaddafi's forces but abstained during the poll.
It's like if the fox is in the henhouse and the wolf, bear and coyote offer their help to the hens.
so its decided. They will finally act.
good thing Obama won, so McCain couln't start more wars huh
/diabolical laughter out loud
I've just read a translation of Gaddafi's latest speech in response to the UNSC resolution - he sounds an awful lot like Arganon with the whole whining thing.
On a more serious note, I've mixed feelings about our involvement - it's going to be expensive, which in the current climate isn't ideal, but at the same time, his threats against his own citizens etc make an intervention of some sort completely justified. It'll be interesting to see how he acts in response.
Allies Bombing Tripoli atm, 100 cruise Missiles fired already...? something like that atm on CNN..
its one of the quickest actions yet of this kind.
It'll cost a fair dime, but if things work out all right and we end up with a stable democratic regime then it will have been well worth it. Also a military costs a lot in general whether it is being used or not, for example there have to be regular live ammo exercises so you may as well put the ammunition to good use when it is being fired.

Edited for accuracy.
Nobody cares about the semantics games, Justinian!
It's not a semantics game. It would be a semantics game if I substituted Democracy with Republic.
The Libyans can kiss their oil financed welfare state goodbye if the anglosaxons get their grubby hands on it.
"oil financed welfare state"
You mean "oil financed Gaddafi's"- state.
rebs on the gain. Wonder what will happen in sirte.
