Topic: Player Pool For KOTH

There are just too many people creating multiple accounts to get into the Family they desire, the only way to put an end to them is to create a Player pool of people who are interested in playing. Also with this it will take out the people who are not fully interested in KOTH, as there are a lot of people joining just for the sake of joining a second galaxy.

Also with a player pool, it will be easy for mods to check all the players to see if there are any multiple accounts in the pool.


I Know people have kinda sorted out their starts and roles for KOTH. Though there are Families who cant get to that stage because of multi accounts, also with a player pool, players can be evenly spread out, making family size even. This will even out the playing field, which will make the round more fun and competitive.

I know not everyone will be happy with this idea, but what's the best most of them who complain about this idea are happy in their family, cuz they multi accounts which have helped them land in the family they wanted big_smile.... jokes but this is the case for a lot of people, who have abused the blind sides of the mods, who don't really check for multiple accounts any more, this is not an attack on the mods, just saying they have enough work to do already.

Plus not counting all the people who are hiding they history from the public.

I know if this idea is implemented the KOTH start date would have to be pushed back, but for a better enjoyment of the round I think its a small sacrifices that can be made.

some players who are interested dont use forums, a few rounds ago i told someone about "Main forums" and he was shocked there was people posting things.

yet he was an assest to the family via ingames mainly and a bit of posting on fam forums.

you cant make a player pool out of just the people that tell the mods they want to play via the forum ic still has about 300 people playing no way in hell are 300 people posing in forums its still the same old same old people over and over with the odd vet coming back to post and the odd new person who orientated his or her way to find some guidence.

I landed in a great fam and got lucky with that this round, but previous round sucked and i landed in a fam that had people that didn't even log onto irc, or sent back a message to me even (except for 2people) so yeah, my round was ruined.. A Player pool would be nice, cuz only the people interested will join and the inactives hopefully won't sign up..

That is true, though they need to learn about the forums, as its important to create a sense of community in the game, as it make it more enjoyable.

Also if there was a msg when you go to join KOTH saying sign up in the  Universal News and give a link to the topic or the forum.

That will solve the problem of people who don't know about the forums.

are you saying if they dont learn about forums that they wont enjoy it and they arnt allowed to play?

im pretty sure some people enjoy it without the forum lol hell some even avoid the forum lol

That arguement is not 100% just, as when i pick from the player pool i take people i have played with, not who i see in forums, i would hope others do the same

i doubt it would be a draft Anubis its just to show who wants to play and those people get to random in. keeping the integrity of PW in it somehow.

what if there was an option that had you join PW that registered you for the PW pool? would make it pretty straight forward and work for everyone

^ Star99 this is exactly what I mean in chat when I say "the problem with a pool is...not everybody can swim" wink

So yeah, pool is a great idea, work it out to let it happen next round, post in anouncements, send personal mail to all players to let them know they'll have to use forums if they want to play next PW round, or any other way to get people informed and interested.

Now if we do the pool this round the amount of players actually active in PW will be reduced (not only the multis) because only a small % of them read this forums.

It's worht trying, but not for this round, and I hate to say that, because I have actually 3 multis in my fam.

Actually, players reading a HQ message will have to come here and post his/her ingame name and (if so) the family they already randomed.

so the pool is formed with players already randomed in, whoever dont come here and post his name its 1 out of 2 options:

1.he's dumb (like TBO pointed)
2.he's a multi

any of both options means he deserves to be removed.

1 day before SOR, any empire not in the pool is removed.

Drastical solutions for drastical problems, thats it

we can do it this round wiht TBO idea if mods agree, any other empire who wants to random directly apply in the pool, so empires in the list stay in their fams and new players wanting to join get randomly placed.
