You're defining a loosely defined organization by the acts of a few people.  That's the fault.

cutting a ton of small packages like that can easily add up. you see 300m as a small figure but it really makes a big difference. i don't back either party but i do think that the government needs to cut a lot of thier funded projects and make themselves profitable to an extent as they aren't relying on us to pay off a debt they created

Fair enough. But this project in particular has a return on investment that is huge, and it is dirt cheap. Imagine the money saved from loss of productivity and poverty.
