fine, i'll say something. thank god something is finally being done about the overpopulation problem. because frankly, i'm getting sick of this shit: every other day someone bitches in the media about overpopulation, enviromental bullshit and other hippy crap. and the next day the media is publishing tear stories about some great catastrophe that has killed a lot of people. which one is it? more people good or less people good? pick one!

i hate chess, once you get to a point, you just start memorizing variations, its not fun.

i quit playing when NAPs were made official. galactic events were also pretty bad. the build limit on planets was pretty bad, the deterioration of resources other then food was pretty bad.

i like risk. you gotta manipulate enemies to go after each other while deceiving them into thinking you're weaker then you actually are.

They live in a quake prone area...

they didnt build most of their buildings to even attempt to survive a SMALL earthquake...

what do you expect to happen when a LARGE earthquake happens??

Over population is not as big a problem as people think.  Sure there are a lot of people in China, but it is possible for the territory to sustain the population.   It is just a matter of developing better infrastructure, and this is a slow process.

the one problem is if global warming does exist, and theres gobal temperature variations in the future it can effect which land is farmable and would most likely drastically reduce the amount of food we're able to produce.

If anything political is to be said, it is how well the Chinese government responded to the crisis. Hopefully through this disaster other earthquake prone areas can start replacing existing infrastructure with quake resistant ones.

small earthquakes are smaller then small in an earthquake prone area, because the ground is already broken up from past earthquakes so the vibrations dont travel as well.

btw the 7,9 was an area of 19k depth and ca. 120km lenght that did broke....

still not as bad as what will happen to the area around Instanbul and New zeeland sooner or later... hopefully later... both sitting on at least a 8,0..

Lots of Chinise have a smaler footprint then all of the Europeans and Americans so there can be more of them then of us and leave the same footprint thus. You americans should stop using 20 times more land then chinese people to feul your needs X|
