Topic: windows 7 help

my sisters windows 7 samsung n220 netbook wont connect to the internet. the netgear router works with all my other machines but when it connects to the netbook a message saying No internet access comes up. the web browser comes up with a long loading screen and the internet doesn't work. help!

does the message 'ipv4 connectivity: no internet access' and 'ipv6 connectivity: no network access' help at all?

edit: when I connect to the router via ethernet everything is fine! but not wireless.

Try updating the drivers on her wireless card.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Do you have other machines with Windows 7?
If the Netgear router is already quite old it may not support Windows 7 (not sure if it makes a difference whether it's a 32 bits or 64 bits).

disable ipv6 and force the laptop to use ipv4 only on the connection.

ground line it to the router first. some routers need to be ground lined to install a communications package. thats how it is for my routers, tis a bit older style

Hmmm.... my Netgear router leaves the possibilty to open a Guest-line... my networkradio, my PS3 will connect to it, but my wireless computers wouldn't work. Opened a Guest-line, added the same codes and called it slightly different from my other wireless-line. Worked perfectly.

This forum is stupid.
