Topic: research points

this is a question only proffessionals can answer


I changed my research at midround to 50/50 military/construction

It was by that time 50% cheaper construction and 25% att/def bonus

as the round advances I keep the 50/50 ratio but the bonus havent grown equaly as it was suposed
Right now my construction bonus is only 5% higher than the att/def bonus

This means two options

1. Military grew more than construction despite the 50/50 ratio  WHY?
2. Construction stopped growing due to my NW growing too with the time  WHY?

I'd like an explanation for both options, thankyou smile

Have you taken into account the fact that Research is progressive? Each % requires more points than the previous.
This will to some extent explain the apparently disproportionate increase in military - it gains the same points at construction with them set 50:50, but it needs fewer points to reach each next level, and so the gap between them decreases.

the % might not look like they make sense because once you hit a certain point its harder to increase, hence why its more beneficial to increase more then one area. Look inr your affairs of state and im sure the NUMBER of research points you get is the same for both.

Yeah its like playing an RPG, say your character needs 50 exp to go up a level then 100 exp to go up to lvl 3 then 150 to go up lvl 4 and so on until its like 450 to get up to level 10. and then you get a new character, whos on level 1. he's going to go up like 3 or 4 levels before your starting guy goes up to level 11.

I think thats how it works anyway. I might be well off tongue

I'm not a "professional" but I'll give it a shot.

Science% = 100 * (1 - exp(-RP / (100 * networth) ) ) - so, as the people stated above, there isn't a linear progression. It becomes harder to reach higher percentages as the research points grow. Also, originally, you had 50% construction bonus for your networth at that time. If you grew in networth, that difference will shrink. For example, if I have 10% construction and 5% attack, if I double in networth, I might have 6% construction, 3% attack (didn't do any calculations, just made up some numbers). The difference becomes less significant.
