Topic: Happy 9th Anniversary IC !

To those of us around since ... well.. along time ago..

Just thought I'd say.. wow.. who'd have thought a browser based game would last this long..


Anyhow.. kudos to the community for this landmark.. and to Stefan.. for putting up with the likes of me and the rest of us for 9 years now..



I know this forum as instituted out of the need for security after the last one was hacked.. but it's nice to see.. that even after nine years... we are still getting glacially timed updates.. (glaciers move slowly.. but at least they are always moving!)

Hehe doesnt feel like its been that long yikes time flies as they say.  I agree some good came of the hacking incident. If only the rest of the game got upgraded like this then we might be able to jump start this game again. 100 active fams in a gal would be great to see.

i havn't been around for 9 years ,but pretty close. that 9 must date back to alpha testing because beta's started in 2000.

I've been around for the 9 years hehe:P Well on and off 1-2 times though:P

9 years? Are you sure? I don't think so Nai. By my reckoning MasterMike and Stefan started coding the game 8 years ago, and it went live in April (or early May) 2000.

Imperial Conflict November 2000 was MPOGD game of the month... and this was not the first time it received those honors.. Archmage wasn't even released the first time IC was awarded. Archmage was winner in March and April 2000...

And I may be totally incorrect.. but I remember playing IC prior to the Y2K thing..

Nai: According to MPOGD, November 2000 was the first time IC won GOTM.
