Topic: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

I dont know how many of you have heard or actually seen the virtual singer (vocaloid) concerts in Japan
Those concerts have become very popular there
Here is an example youtube.com/watch?v=VlTZ0IWfVBQ

I wonder what this means for real (in flesh and blood) singers - strong competition and fading out ?

Re: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

if it sings anything from Macross we gotta blow up Japan

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

I think westerners are kind of abrasive when it comes to watching performances live when they can get the exact same thing home.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

having in mind that many singers are performing using phonograms and just opening their mouths in synch but notreally singing alive i think their days are numbered

Re: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

It's a great demonstration of technology, but performance-wise, it's pretty rubbish. Interaction is what makes gigs awesome, and in this case, that is non-existant..

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: Hatsune Miku vocaloid

im pretty sure when it comes to live gigs, interaction < adequate cheap beer
