Topic: The Humans must be Crazy!

/Panda (in China) noticed wikipedia had become unblocked!  And decided to find out which was the greatest killer of the humans: nature or themselves.

/Panda discovered that more humans have died at the hands of other humans than have died in natural disasters.

Now, the pandas generally aren't as good at math as the humans, and so it is confusing to the pandas to figure out the totals.  Panda is sure the humans are winning, but would like to know what the score is.

Man can kill men, but there will always be more men. Not even nuclear war will kill man -- he will adapt, reproduce, and repopulate...and then, thrive once more. And yes, i think man is a creature tongue.

Exactly. Part of becoming what we are today involved learning to kill, I would not be surprised if it was hard written into our DNA.

/Panda responds to the man: Surely, due to your current evolutionary status, you humans can indeed find a way to kill any living creature (and perhaps every living creature), and, in addition, I'm sure that in the future if indeed you humans venture forth to the stars and evolve further you could eventually claim the entire universe as your dominion and even discover the means by which to destroy the entire universe(s) itself.  Panda has no question as to the human potential for destruction.  We pandas know this very well.  This is not the issue for us.  The issue is to what extent you humans are / will be capable of creation.

I was not using 'man' to indicate a single human, i was using it to indicate the entire human race. As much as you want to believe otherwise, complete permanent removal of the human race is impossible. By the time we have weapons to literally destroy Earth, people will have moved to other planets. Not to mention that if life can evolve into humans once, it can evolve into humans again.

Prove it, explain to me how anything with a body weight  of over 30Kg will survive 10,000 nuclear detonations, the wash of radiation, the fallout, and the resulting nuclear winter?

also theres that lovely mutations from the radiation that might transform our species into something that is immune to the radiation. Don't you just love evolution.

I'm personally hoping to be some kind of hard shelled human.

/Panda doesn't ask a question, at least at first.  After Fokker did not respond to the topic Panda presented, Panda did in fact ask "Why do the humans hate pandas so?"  But Panda did expect some kind of response to the aforementioned topic (the topic being creative vs. destructive potential). 

/Panda puts forth the notion that it would be more 'intelligent' for humans to use their creative potential rather than their destructive potential, and, moreover, the fact that the humans have used / are using their destructive potential more than their creative potential indicates that they are probably not as intelligent as they think they are, perhaps not even as intelligent as pandas.  You see, according to Panda`s concept of intelligence, ones intelligence is determined by their ability to create, and, in addition, to create something never created before (innovation).

Therefore, the quote the Fokker used:

"I am man,
There is no creature I cannot kill,
There is no thing I cannot destroy,
I am man."

indicates to Panda (if in fact the humans really do think this way) that the humans are the least intelligent of all species on Earth.

Consider it like this: destruction is `negative` intelligence, and `creation`is positive intelligence.  If we were to sum up and subtract all the destructive and constructive actions in human history, and if we were to come up with a negative sum, it would clearly indicate to Panda that humans are less intelligent than a piece of stone, which neither creates nor destroys anything and thus has a 0 rather than negative intelligence rating.
