No allie - important cause there wont be enough good fams
No market (or fixed) market is dysfunctional anwyays and is juist abused
Start resources and explorers matters very little tbh

Why not go the whole way and give everyone same race and work with 3 man fam. By then its all up to wisdom and activity and nobody can say they took wrong race.
I enjoyed this round without market, production had to be balanced all the time and with 3 man fam its possible to aid between fam so market isnt important. Its also hard to hide stuff (or impossible).
Maybe this will be to easy but im willing to try it. Doesnt matter if its wardancer or camaar, its equal for everyone.

I have nothing against going 3 man fam, played some rounds that way and it's really fun, but it's not SS, so maybe forcing people to choose race between some pre-fixed custom races designed by mods, let's say 5 pre-fixed custom races, all of them to play SS, each player name his own race, but the race points and stuff are distributed in one of those 5 ways (mods should work hard to check ALL races are ok with the presets).

make it so that each fam has a total of usable race points, freely distributed bwtween each fam, so one player can use them all, or they can share tongue

no drafting, otherwise we end up with 3-4 good fams full of activity and rest of galaxy suck.

no if its forced drafting, families can be done before round starts and mods put players manually, and ofc joining as random is not allowed.

i like the idea of only using preset races, no custom races. 3man or 1 man i dont mind, 1 man is easier imo because you don't have to rely on anyone, but 3man can be more fun because you have people to talk to.

many possibilities:

-We stay the same but alliances must be told to mods that check that the 3 players are all allied together (no chain alliances).-All players have a supra SS race made for the round, no ally, no more than 3 nap that must be written in relation page.
-Market must stay closed (open market=possibility to cheat,  fixed market=noone will take income since it costs 100 pts to make cash and 0pts to produce resources and sell them).
-Unless it's no ally, pax must be forbiden i guess, they are too powerfull...i've been nuked 60 times this round, 18 succed,CFs were hit 1 time. Easy to recover. The pax put 3 OH on me and 8 reduce food prod and my income was negative in 5 ticks. If i had no saves i was dead for sure (no possibility to react with market, send fleet or jump wizz).
-The round should randomly end between week 4 and 6 (dunno if it's possible to make it in the game without any player(and mods) able to guess it, if not a rl event could decide when it ends...)
-what is good without family, it's that noone can screw ur round because he suddenly becomes inactive, but could be good to see a 2 members fam. 1 makes the cash the other spends it, like in a couple smile ) But i guess there would be too much temptation for account sitting.

My first choice would go to: 1 member fams, no ally, no more than 3 nap, no market, SA allowed from start, no attack first 7 days, round randomly ends between week 4 and 6, no morale, same size of map and number of systems.

I would say no allies tbh, best way to ensure that ppl dont get too friendly and pass planets etc,,,

I would love set market, but the prices needs to be very carefully set, since its such a hige advantage to have speed and attack bonus

did we ever do a 2 man fam ? that would be fun 3 is attacker banker and resource orso but if you have 2 you cannot do attacker banker resource team and you also do not need to go ss. but 2 ss could also..

so i say 2 players fam and some start stuff and things like that best part is the 2man fam tongue and im going to say it again 2mans fam would rock
