the fact is, that unless you build one banker (the most active) and one resourcer (again the most active)... then you end up a farm for the a holes that like to rape small families... true for some it starts slow... but if you stick to it then the rewards are that you build family trust, and lots of cash to help the others to catch up.
in the military it is called fire and cover.
one helps the other till they have 20 planets, then they help the rest to get up.
then they are supposed to do jumps... no one that is successful at family banke is greedy, it will never work that way, and if you are in a family like that then just delete.... stop bitching that "you" are getting no where... that is selfish... you are part of a team, work together or die together... that is IC.

instead of a fam bank i suggest to use fam business plans thread
everyone who wants to get resources from fam-mates has to post his business plan for the day ahead - what he plans to build when and how many resources he wants to get from fam members to help him.
This is very similar to the aid thread except that here you need to post your future plan not the yesturday's needs

fam bank, aid, infra jumps - all these threads are essentially the same sh1t-talk about planning fam activity. To plan it best way possible you simply need to CONSTANTLY DIRECT ALL FAM RESOURCES TO THE PLAYERS WITH SHORTEST ROIs (Return Of Investment times). That says it all

It might just be that I'm in a good family, but i love the system. Sure, I don't always get stuff, but I can't always get stuff- other people in the family also need it.

teams are more fun than fam bank though, both for actives and noobies. especially for noobies.

Boring.  I mean, what's the point.  Your told what to do and when to do it.  You don't get to make any deciisions. Your just pushing buttons.  Your family may win, but you haven't won, you've just pushed the buttons you where told to push.  That's not a game, it's a job.

No its called doing what the game tells you to do according to your race. your a banker what do you expect to do. If you didn't have a bank you'd save and do the same thing. Go opper or attacker and no one tells you when to do your job. The bank is the best way to build a family. It may not work as the best because things need to be in order but it is the best. Thats why this game is semi realistic because the best always isn't the best.
