Both ways have pros and cons. Your success will depend on your activity. I went with the 2 ship start myself. Pop isnt that much income early on cuz those planets take a long time for the pop to max out. Early on infra is better than a bit of pop income. Should point out that some of us 3 planet guys have 5k nw or more with less than half the planets.

Gotta see how it plays out. I dont recall having a galaxy like this ever so its an experiment for all of us.

one more thing...can we play with some honor in here and NOT DELETE when you start to lose just to deprive the guy who was killing you of planets. Thats a total cheese manuever and its poor sportsmanship. Id rather see people go down fighting. Its hardcore rules. If you can get the upper hand with agents and wizards you can inflict alot of damage on someone.

well like I said AA I also started out with just 2 explored and now have increased a bit as needed and my NW would put me to number 3 simply by exploring and having 7 planets and I still have stuff coming in over the next few ticks that I would be number 1 in NW simply by having more planets but then I would not have all the infra I have either thus I stick to my point those that started out with 2 or 3 explored p's and stay a bit active will over take the early explored guys soon enough smile

It really doesn't matter yet anyways, its just who took the highest income bonus atm but when attacking begins things will get interesting.

the top 5 have all expoed 6 planets early. am just posting this so we can compare in some ticks as those who expoed 2 or 3 will soon habe to expo more planets.

Science can compensate attack bonus with cons% and military%
Ppl with no attack bonus and no science may be in serious trouble.
Wardancers have both but less income so they'll have less saves.

if I knew SA couldnt be cast first 7 days I wouldnt have taken it sad

I like this SD, something really new for strats where u cant be sure of anything. First tick of attack should be epic smile

Less income can easily be replaced with economy and construction research.  You already have 70% attack, more military isn't necessary. 

I dominated last round in SD as a Wardancer and even construction % and military % does not save you without attack bonus.  There were a number of quantums that couldn't take out my stationed wink  Ask Easy way.

i just build wizzies to cast sa only to notice that i wasted my money.
there should have been other ways to prevent OFFENSIVE actions other than disabling all ops.
now im not gonna become #1 today..

That isn't a new thing, Bloodbath so its your fault.

And tryme, it doesn't.   How is a partax op going to help you take a planet off of me if I station a large fleet on it?  And it is very easy to build enough agents to defense against DU since agent ops successrate is buggy on offensive ops

well Gondor I dont lie and you know this but I was just talking with HydroP and in 7 ticks I will have 10,150 K NW with 7 planets since by then I will have explored the other 2 planets since I only have 62 spaces left on the 5 p's, which will put me in the top 4 to 6 by that time.

and of course while the last 2 planets are being explored (longer distance) I will have saved enuf to get close to FB 1 planet with cf's which means 5 ticks later I will be close to 11k NW

by then we will see what the early 7 planet guys have done.

Hydrop is already well past our other allie that explored all 7 right off the bat and if I simply had the nw from 2 more planets I would already be ahead of my allie at about 12th place and even more with the infra coming in in 1 to 7 ticks smile

but if I am wrong about this start being not the best then so be it, it's one thing for sure it will at least be equal smile
