Topic: Basic start of round strategy.

This is aimed at our newer players and is a general guideline for the beginning of the round.

First thing is to ensure that you have defined how you will make your main production - banker or resourcer.  This means you are going to start off with CF or Iron.  Obviously you need to pick a race that is designed for your production. Revlons for banking and basically any other race for resorcing but some are better than others.

Once you have chosen your race you need to link up with your family.  The first few days of the round are very important.  Depending on how active you are it can have a positive or negative affect on the rest of the round.

First thing is to find another family member to team up with. Presuming your family is playing teams.  If your family is doing fam bank. Just listen to your leaders advice.

When you make a team, you need to find someone who is doing the opposite of what your doing.  Ie if you are banking you need a resourcer and vice versa.

Now the reason we team up is that it is more beneficial to specialise in the galaxy.  You maximise your production in either cash or iron by only building for your type.  Building both can leave you weaker in the long run.  Obviously a resourcer with -30% income should not be building cf's.

The benefits of teaming up mean that as a banker you have all the resourcers you could need without high market prices and the resourcer has all the cash they need to pump iron.

Obviously this can be done solo but this brings me to my next point.

At the start of the round, the market is highly unstable and SS players struggle. Bankers will find it difficult to get resources at the right price.

The point is to maximise your start of round resources and I will explain how.

When you bank at Start of round 'sor' your left with heaps of cash after building cf's.  When resourcing you have a lot of wasted iron which you sell off at round start for nothing.

By swapping cash and iron with your team mate you can both build more than you could have by yourself.  Which means your production is higher than it would have been if SS.

This higher production earlier means that you can build more, faster - effectively shaving days or weeks off the time it would have taken you to reach high income or iron production.

Now the secret to making this work is to build as much as you can Every Tick.  If you or your team mate have any resources left over at the end of a tick this is bad.  You need to build more now to have more later.  Its all about the speed of growth.

By being as active as you can and building as much as you can you will be stronger as a result.

Working together means you are stronger and increase your chances of survival.

So to sum it up;
Specialise in production either cash or iron to be the strongest you can be.

Team up with someon in your family.  People who work together survive together.

SS players are weak at the start of round which dramatically negatively affects the rest of the round.

Maximise your production to increase your speed of growth by building with every scrap of resources you and your team mate has.

Send your production to your team mate because they will give you a better return than the market could ever give you.

Just some basics for the new guys and gals.
