Topic: A Shift in Priorities

A historical what if.
What if the Germans won WWI,

Hitler wouldn't probably be bitter nor unemployed, he might even make it into art school and become famous.

WWII might not even happen.

What will happen to the British empire as a consequence of losing WWI?

Would the Arab world be better off if they stayed united as the Ottamen Empire?

Would the Americans stay isolationist now that their first major involvement outside of the Americas failed/never happened at all.

Would Japan decide to strike its own place in a world where the major colonial empires are weak and the minor colonial empire of Germany are strong and vibrant? Or would it attempt to find strength subtly with an asian Co-prosperity sphere forming economic tides with former colonies?

How would a Germany unlooted by WWI, WWII, and the Soviet occupation fare economically in the world?

Would Russia become communist or would a strong Germany prevent that?

Would Israel be created without the Holocaust?

How would China with continued pre-war investments from a non-defeated Germany fare in the mist of the Warlords?

How much will American society differ from today if all the mass migrations of war refugees never happened?

If you are interested go to the link below, just something I found that I want to share.

Re: A Shift in Priorities

thanks, intersting read

btw the Krauts could get men to the battlefield just fine, it was that they could still kill 2:1 Allies : Germans and lose the war.  German started teh war in 1914 with 80 million people and the USA just brought another 100 million to the fight.  It was the age of mass conscription, fully 10% of that 100 million could fight in Germany.  German regiments were already 2/3 the size of what they had been in 1914, they were already recruiting 15 year olds.   They couldn't make up their losses. At that, it was their govt that quit before the army did.

Re: A Shift in Priorities

well the government quit based on the army's assessment that it would not win the war, I mean wasn't there even a phone call from Ludendorf that he could no longer guarantee holding the front for another 24 hours and such?

also Germany was not only struggeling to match the entente's manpower, but also its resources. The allies had an abundance of everything (as much as you can reasonably have in war time at least), whereas the germans were forced to cannibalize their economy further and further to maintain the war just a little bit longer with even soldiers suffering from meager diets as the end neared

Re: A Shift in Priorities

german aims after winnig were total economic and military control over europe, half of africa and the european parts of russia. france and britain would have been out of the way. the US alone were no opponent for germany. In the middle run there would have been a WW2 between germany and the US. The winner would have ruled the world.

Why would either people want to go 3000 miles overseas to fight an enemy they had so little relation to? Maybe their leaders would but it would be hard to convinve anyone to travel to Europe/America to fight a real war.

Re: A Shift in Priorities

actually USA was pretty evenly split between staying the hell out, helping the krauts, and helping the brits

we got sold a bill of goods about Hun barbarism, and the Huns blew up our stuff more than the Brits, even though the Brits were stopping us from making money they didn't blow up our stuff.  And then the Germans offered to help Mexico rape us. DONT EVER HELP MEXICO RAPE US it pisses us off
