yes that my point, many times ive buildt an expansion while im still on 18 probes or so. and thus i waste resoruces and get overrun

sounds like you need to scout better tongue

Edit: a bit more detail. for example, if i am playing against a protoss i will scout around 10-12 supply, depending on map. if i see 2 gates go up right away in his base, i don't expand and instead go for fast roaches to kill the zealot rush that is coming. if i see a cybercore, i know he is going for either a) 2/3 gate robo, b) 4 gate rush, c) void ray rush, or rarely d) some sort of dt or phoenix play. any of these options leaves me free to expand around 16 supply.

i then scout again using an overlord around 25-30 supply which should confirm one of these tech paths and let me know how to react from there

I guess from a Protoss point of view what i do is i scout them early, if i see them going tier 1 units, marines or zerglings i make sure i have sufficient zealots, and then i try to get colossus by the time they have marines/marauders or roaches/hydras. Colossus usually rips them apart them. The hardest unit to face as protoss i find to be either vikings or mass mutas, basicly because the only reliable unit protoss as against them  is stalker, since pheonixes are pretty bad

pretty much after you defend their big push its quite safe to expand. if they are doing an early expand u can also expand or do a big push.

well in the upper end of the skill lv most of the fights are won after the main is depleated and its a matter of who gets to keep their expansions.

void ray rush is quite common, even TLO lost to tester in king of beta via void ray rush.

dont think cannon rush will work after silver.

surprised diamond ppl still cheese tongue tought they d just play standard most of the time. and by void ray rush pretty much what u said not mass void ray. LOL i started going to tl website after i was linked the day9 commentry highlight youtube god that was epic.

man theres sooo much strategy involved lol specially with someone as competant as Smartz kinda makes me feel like if i get sc2 ill be soooo far behind in stratz its not worth it lol far out!

Man, battlenet is pure bullshit, I thought about buying starcraft but I let that idea slide after realizing  that I can't play anyone but people in my 'zone' and no lan
