Topic: Laws Against Fraud = Discrimination
I am a born liar. I did not ask to be born this way. I am what I am.
America has historically oppressed and stigmatized the liar. stereotypes portray liars as criminals and evil. Liars are good fathers and taxpayers. Liars probably have more kids than straight folks! Liars graduate from college with better test scores than honest people.
Liars make good friends. Many of our political leaders, are and have been liars.
The stereotypes of liars as deviant are based in religious preferences. Certain churches teach lying is contrary to God's will, and bearing false witness will send the liar to hell. The Gospels sanction ostracization of liars ("brush the dirt off your sandals, and go") and even violence ("those who mislead the little ones, it were better they tied a millstone around their necks and cast themselves into the sea"). Clearly the state cannot legitimately enact those private morals in the face of the secular advantage of permitting fraud.
Fraud is a major segment of the American economy. An estimated 10-30% of the Medicare budget goes to fraud. Fraud has created massive employers like First Jersey Securities and Enron and BCCI. Some 20% of the $100 bills in circulation are counterfeit, stimulating the global economy. The state has a secular interest in permitting fraud.
Liars suffer discrimination when their fraudulent contracts are voided by the state. Handshake deals are not an acceptable alternative. Handshake deals deliberately withhold the cultural meaning and accompanying benefits of notarized contracts, from liars. Liars have the right to have their arrangements accorded the same dignity and esteem as honest contracts.
Wherefore, as the state cannot show a compelling secular interest, and denies due process to liars, the laws against fraud are declared void. The Better Business Bureau shall close its doors and those consumer reports shall be fined $10,000 for hate speech.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.
