Topic: SS no good?

People often say playing SS is bad and can't match proper teamwork.. thoughts?

ps. I am now SS-banking and if you would multiply my NW/Planets by 13 (max number of players per fam) .. well I would be number 1 by faaaar tongue

Yes, SS is good at infra whoring if you have 13 *active* players.
But what about attacking? And in times of war?

yea you need attackers. but still if you have one or two active attackers who gives most of their explos to others. you can keep the losses to a minimum while having attackers tongue

ss banking is the stupidest shit ever, ss attacking is ok.

ss banking all u doing is whore up space and contribute nothing. (if u help with aiding then u are not exactly ss banking)

ss attacking at least u are doing something to protect the fam.

SS is great if your lucky in a good fam who will watch your back, let you expo there core, clear all intruders etc etc

but mostly its boring, i mean go play sim city or civ vs cpu

SS is good,  you dont count on anyone, slow start -> fast progress after.

Also you can be ss and still help fam bank.

I was doing better as an SS this round before they convinced me to rely on the family bank system.   Now I cant build or grow and I have to sell my resources for upkeep.  No...Im not in a great family.


Id rather be SS.

Second chart (x is vertical races and y is horizontal races)....it explains from first chart. How much x makes subtract how much y makes, then it will tell you which one makes more or less in comparison.

SS Banker has mixed infra buildings like mfs, ocs, hfs, rss, u name it...then income get messed up and lower....trying to explain to n00b about that

it may not be accurate numbers, but it just give u an idea that it can mess up ur income

SS banking can be paired with opping though, which can be very useful to the family, pretty much a dedicated wizzie/agent man

I had top income in andro last round as an ss player, but 2 fams targetting me without any proper attacker killed me without to much effort... only thing you can do when you're in a small fam is to port early, keep sys clean (quite hard, and activity needed if you want a "nice"/acceptable core).  And most of all, keep DS going... Otherwise they'll kill you off very easy smile

And yeh... opping is quite nice and fams who target an ss might not be the "real" winner, since they gain only few planets and they all need to jump to a ridiculous amount of agents to protect, which makes the whole 'operation' quite silly.
