Whats wrong with the word Spaniard?

I was kinda thinking the same thing maybe it is an outdated word/name they never use anymore? I have not heard them being called Spaniards for a long time now though.... maybe a Spanish person can elaborate for us?

Exaxctly, not completely based but it is true Cruyff left his footprint here, and I'd show a great respect for THAT football, that football your players are unable to play because they're taught the wrong lesson.  When it comes to a final, any sportman should at least try to play it, and you didnt.

Everybody has tried it --> I played at school since I was 6, then played 3 years in a filial team for Celta de Vigo as juvenil, others just tried it, but I talk from my real experience in an official team, not only as I supporter. I was a dangerous forward and goalscorer and received all kind of agressions in my short football career until I got an ankle injury that forced me to leave it.  And I recognize I punched, kicked and played dirty also some times when it was necessary and I even broke an opponents leg once when fighting for a ball. Every match was like a battle in stone and sand fields, we barely touched the green playing in those inferior cathegories, where referees were too blind when you played as visitant because they were constanly threatened by the oponent suporters.

So I know what I'm talking about when it comes to football subjects. A karate kick like DeJons' woulda been more than enough to form a real battle at a inferior cathegory, I've known players banned forever from football for minor agressions, hence I am really upset for seeing that is allowed in a WC final.
