Topic: MW Opinion - Fam Structure
Okay, so its been 3 weeks into the round so far.
What do you guys think of 15 member families and 2 drafts (15/2)?
Pros?
Cons?
Suggestions? Changes? Anything else?

Maybe we need more drafts (maybe 1 or 2 more) to compensate for the inactives in the smaller fams?
Like the family size, makes for good strategy/teams etc. Would have preferred maybe 1 more draft place though.
1 or 2 more drafts would be nice
10 families. 10 players each. 11 systems.
I prefer smaller familys....
1. its easier to plan infra.
2. often having 3-5 bankers means 1 or 2 bankers are left smaller cuz the more active ones seem to get all the resources.
3. each player is 'allowed to shine' more. meaning your attackers feel more important.
4. more familys = more alliances to compete for the win. Diplomacy will be key.
5. veteran players are spread out amongst the galaxy, instead of stacked in a few familys.
as far as draft spots are concerned i think having 3 drafts in smaller family is decent. Allows you to play with 3 friends.
once a bigger family is defeated in a war, it seems the whole family falls apart and your left with an inactive farm for a month. That leaves us with more bored players that are more likely to leave the game.
if you going to have 30 families, you should have tri alliances implemented again =p
I would prefer smaller families aswell.
somehow my fam got stacked up with 6 of the best inactives there is.
I like this family size, and am ok with the drafts, though 1 more wouldn't be bad. How 'bout 2 draft spots at beginning, then 1 more that opens up after 2 weeks or so? That would give families a chance to replace one inactive person, but no unfair advantage at the beginning.
Double the morale planet count.
I like it the way it is. Just miss Teddy and Spam, else good ![]()
i like the family size as it is, would just prefer an extra 1-2 drafts, and put it back to 8 weeks, or maybe 10
smaller families!!
8-10 players a fam
with 2 drafts is good
im for smaller families, easier to coordonate and you dont need *ALL the talent in MW*
Smaller families, 7-9 players tops.
3 drafts
I think the thing that sucks most is that there is so little amount of families in the round......i like it more when theres a lot of different fams.
as much as i dont like it ![]()
agreeed with Teddy, had lotsa fun in the 9 ppl family in the last capri round
i disagree with more moral planets.
your already raping the smaller families. more moral planets will only result in more raping
10 players 4 drafts
with 3 at start and 1 opening up 2 weeks into the round.
The opening up a draft idea by Middle is an interesting notion.
Firstly, we can't do it without Stefans help.
But even if we could get it implemented ....after thinking about it, wouldn't it just promote more people giving up during a round and then moving to a fam with friends they like? Thereby killing even more competition in the round?
I mean, after the spot opens, its rare that players not already playing will wanna join. Rather, people who had a bad start, or start to dislike their families, will leave, join another fam, and make an already strong fam, even stronger - not to mention deleting from the current fam, killing it off even more.
I like the idea of the idea - but not sure its practical.
But yea, so far in this thread ...it seems almost like a 50-50 split for fam size - but everyone would like at least 1 extra draft.
Mmm ...keep the feedback comin!
tri's, with smaller families, as well as more of them, would probably do the trick.
i also think that allies (leaders and vice leaders) should be able to aid each other directly, so that the bond is stronger
aiding allies is an idea for a different thread. Although i like that idea too. Should put a limit on it though. Perhaps having it take longer to arrive. Maybe a number of ticks = the distance from one family to another at 0 speed.
that could be lived with... like a care package LOL.
it takes X amount of transports to transfer X amount of resources or cash, and you have to send it to the home planet of your ally..... WTF BULL sheit..... send it instant like they were family, and if you drop ally then you drop that connection.
there would be a lot less farm families if allies could pool they're resources and income.
that means a much more active game and a lot more players.
fast action, much diplomacy, and active players= big community= more VIP's.
hell if this game got to over 30k (actual, not multi's) players i would buy my first, but i think you should do a years membership for $35US and that way most don't have to make transactions every 3 months or so.
Bigger families are much better, more activity on irc or msn, your not waiting around for people to log on, your not being depended on to be "fam bank" all day.
Anyone who thinks 10 player fams are positive then they are obviously one of those players who log on and send aid then dissapear, or delete when they are given too much responsibility.
I like 15 player fams but think there should be 4 draft spots.
