Topic: I Love Environmentalist Cover Your Arse Moves...

In a surprising study, Islands in the Pacific, which were supposed to be nearly drowned due to rising water (this story say 4+ feet) scientists found all but 4 Islands have grown in size, or have the same area.


If the oceans had risen 4 feet I know a lot of areas that would be flooded out... funny they are not.


But environmentalists, desperate to defend their lies at all costs have a different take..

we were told to believe, because there was CONSENSUS, that industrial pollution was blocking the earth's ability to radiate heat, therefore the whole planet was getting hotter, therefore we would see polar ice melt and higher temperatures going up up up up up up for forty years.

we didn't

NOW we're told that industrial pollution blocks the earth's ability to radiate heat, therefore the whole planet is in CHAOS, so ANY oddball weather report demonstrates "climate change".

seems to me, if there's no empirical test of whether or not current levels of pollution block earth's ability to radiate heat, there must be some doubt about that.  to a scientist.  observing the weather doesn't cut it anymore. 

instead scientists have abandoned science adn now argue on Faith.  "It's not enough you don't think it's tested and proved--you gotta come up with a provable explanation before you can doubt CONSENSUS"

it's called only reading the stuff you want to read;

and many of the selfproclaimed "main-posters" of the politics forum live by it. here are the rules i've been able to deduct.

any site/source descriving stuff you do not want to acknowledge or that disproves one of your points is automatically not a valid source
any site/source provided by the person is always right but only the parts that prove his point in the forumpost. all the rest is filling of the sourcearticle( including paragraphs that start with "on the other hand" or "but after a closer look"

any person that bugs the "main-poster in question for too long with valid points and sources will be added to the "ignore for life list" as it is much easier that way.

any person with a vision different from the poster is someone to either ignore or convince otherwhise. the poster will never ever adjust his vision based on the points provided by a person who's tries to disprove one of the points made.

in short:
the poster is always right
any one disagreeing is either stupid/ignorant or unknowing




sadly it's the only thing keeping the politics forum alive and at the same time killing it. the politics forum needs a steady flow of newcomers to replace the older members who have given up talking against the deaf walls of this forum and have given up on these ppl.

Sea levels have NOT risen 4 feet 7 inches.  I am sorry to inform you that your saturday morning cartoons were wrong, and there is no standing magic pile of water in the ocean that is higher than the rest of the ocean.  I am sure the Dutch would be screaming if sea levels were 1 meter higher.  since it is not higher there then it isn't rising higher.  Cause the water is all connected and it flows downhill.  I don't know what the author meant to say before the editor mangled it to "sea levels by 4 feet 7 inches" but since our piers are not drowning I know that ain't what' shappening.

Yes rising sea levels WOULD BE a threat in many parts of the world.  So WOULD BE invasion by moon men, impact by a comet, 365 days of 100F temps and no rain, and hosting motorcycle rallies.  I mock the idea that this potential hazard is in fact due to arrive.

I rarely understand what you're writing chubby, and I'm sure you dont' really know either.  That quote was from the article, so you just called FOX news tree humping, kava chugging, earth mother lovers.  I never thought I'd see the day.  Frankly, I dont give a flying rat's ass what you or anyone else thinks climate change is all about, I was just pointing out that Einstoned cannot read.
