Topic: Unforgivable crimes

Just a general discussion on crimes you think should have mandatory sentences; no plea bargains, no leniency in return for co-operation, and no parole.

Two that come to mind for me are rape and murder.  I don't care how well you behave in prison or whether or not you're rehabilitated if you rape or kill somebody you serve the full sentence, you could be a candidate for Sainthood and it wouldn't make up for what you did.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

None.

Not because the severity of the crime, but simply that it's impossible to prove a crime 100%.

Take rape for example. Is it rape? Prove it.

I agree on the Rape, but as for the Murder I think there are times when it is understandable if not justified, for example:

Black Wing's little girl gets kidnapped.
Black Wing's little girl is found weeks later having died as a result of her injuries.
Black Wing vanishes.
Black Wing turns up weeks later having killed the paedo.
Black Wing goes to prison.
Black Wing get's early parole for good behaviour.

Well, it makes sense to me, but personally I think Rape, Child Molestation, Statutory Rape (if you're over 21) and Drink and Driving should be rewarded with a visit to the Isolation Cubes.

"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."

Unforgivable crimes? Running for public office with the promise of squeezing me even more financially. Acquiring public office by such demagoguery should be punished by death after suffering no less than 30 years in slave labor.

Durring sexual intercourse a certain amount of damage is done to the vagina.  When sex is non-consentual this damage is distinct vs consentual sex.  Furthermore if a woman is drugged and then raped so no resistance is offered, and thus no distinct damage, with few exceptions traces of the drug will remain in the woman's system long enough for her to get to a hospital assuming she is not being held captive.  If a man is raped I have no idea how you could prove it.  Now admittedly mistakes are made and in the event the conviction turns out to be a mistake then of course let them go, but don't let these people go because there MIGHT have been a mistake.

Not always. Some women, while being raped, get physicly excited. So there's not always "damage".
These women are the ones who have the roughest time accepting and digesting it.

Rape is one of the vilest things one can do, and needs to be punished harder over here, I think. Murder has standard long sentences on it already..

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: Unforgivable crimes

it's silly to take vague descriptions like "rape" and "muurduurrrrr" and say zomg no leniency

the beauty of criminal law is that a judge can apply both extenuating and aggravating circumstances depending on the facts of the case; it is an option in certain legal systems to deliver a sentence which is without possibility of probation and such.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

anyone caught selling drugs imho should be locked up for life

why???

the resulting crimes that spin off from people trying to fund their drug habits and crimes from people on the drugs is ridiculous.. therefore anyone caught involved with the selling/production of drugs should be an 'unforgivable crime'

Re: Unforgivable crimes

"Is it rape? Prove it"

I thought, in the right circumstances, you could be pretty much sure 100% who did it due to strength of physical evidence.  Mean, if your manly juices are swimming around inside a seriously spooked out 12-year-old schoolgirl, it's hardly a case of "Gee, now how did that get there?"

"Not always. Some women, while being raped, get physicly excited. So there's not always "damage".

Forget damage to her organs. The huge majority of rapes involve beating, bruising, even fractures in the hips. There will be evidence elsewhere on the body in most cases to at least prove some sort of violent attack.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

Do you guys realize the additional costs that would be incurred if plea bargains weren't around?  Every person who has indisputable evidence against them would still be tried, rather than just pleading guilty, bogging down the legal system meaninglessly.

Sure, those crimes are bad.  But a lack of pragmatic consideration of the situation is pretty bad too...

This is where we use what I call the bad/worse scenario.  You inform said person that regardless of what they do they will go to jail; the only difference is if they plead guilty they will go to regular jail, and if they fight it they get to go to special jail that will make Auschwitz(sp?) look like a 5-Star Resort.  It may be harsh but these people are criminals; they have no rights and they deserve no consideration.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

Re: Unforgivable crimes

Why is rape the worst crime imaginable? I think denial of nerds sex is more criminal than rape. The reason is that it denies superior human beings a basic human need, and second reduces the overall intelligence of humanity over time. This crime not only denies human beings a basic human need, but it also has a detrimental effect on humanity itself.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

haha

if nerds would put as much effort into getting a nice girl as thay do into other aspects of there lives it would not be as bad tongue.

i like most nerds use to find it hard to speak to women tongue but college changed me a bit for the better big_smile if nerds came out of there shells more it would not be that bad thay just have to overcome there fear of the oposit sex and put there anti social behavior aside:P

Re: Unforgivable crimes

"Um... DPS, that's called a plea bargain."

Not in the traditional sense

The traditional sense is you get leniency, my way you have the choice between the maximum sentence and endless hours of work and torture with an inevitably slow and painful death; if you can find someone who thinks that's a bargain they need help.

Re: Unforgivable crimes

I think child molestation (and this is ACTUAL molestation, like and uncle raping his 13 year old niece, not 'oh, my teacher brushed my shoulder too hard while walking by' or 'oh, my mommy touched my bumbum when helping me try out jeans') should be punishable by death. Im OK with the sentences for most other crimes smile.

By the wya, I think child abuse laws should be a lot more lax. To think how much better a place America would be if parents could just slap the shit out of their kids to get them to behave. Beats attempting to reason with 6-13 year olds yikes.
